LINGFIELD PARK

Race 1 No3 OUR JESTER (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Tom O’Brien

OUR JESTER created a favourable impression when opening his account in a well contested Ascot bumper in November. The six-year-old has the potential to go a long way in bumpers and novice hurdles this season, and can get us off to a cracking start.

Race 5 Fleur De Lys Chase

No1 BRISTOL DE MAI
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

Popular grey BRISTOL DE MAI is back in calmer waters after pulling up when trying to add to his impressive tally of Betfair Chase successes. This is a first career visit to Lingfield for the veteran, but the conformation of the track and the testing underfoot conditions shouldn’t faze him. The one thing he needs to avoid is getting into a battle for early supremacy with Dashel Drasher, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see his jockey let that one a lead.

Race 6 Racehorselotto.comSurrey National Handicap Chase

No14 COLONEL KEATING (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Rowe – Jockey: Tabitha Worsley

Course specialist COLONEL KEATING sneaked into this marathon at the foot of the weights. The selection carried 12st 2lb to victory here when coming back from a lay off last month, so will think he’s running loose with 35lb less to shoulder. He’s a good jumper that handles testing conditions, and will be fitter for that needed run. In a very good betting race, Sussex National hero Go Whatever and runner-up Pemberley can both earn, while Eclair Mag appeals as a tasty outsider.

Prediction: 1st COLONEL KEATING, 2nd Go Whatever, 3rd Pemberley, 4th Eclair Mag

WARWICK

Race 4 No5 GOOD RISK AT ALL (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: James Bowen

GOOD RISK AT ALL landed a Listed bumper before finishing second in both novice hurdles this season. His effort to get to within six lengths of the exceptional Jonbon at Newbury last time makes him of considerable interest, and a class apart from his foes.

Race 5 No8 GOODNIGHT CHARLIE (Each Way)
Trainer: Caroline Fryer – Jockey: Bridget Andrews

GOODNIGHT CHARLIE is a standing dish at this course, and though failing to add to her laurels last season could now be in a good place to add to her three successes at the track. The grey showed with her recent Fakenham triumph that she’s no back number, and can be a force is this competitive long distance handicap chase.

Race 6 No2 REIKERS ISLAND
Trainer: Alan Hill – Jockey: Miss Izzie Marshall

REIKERS ISLAND came good at Cartmel last summer before being prepared for a campaign in the hunter-chase division. He’s going to prove a value alternative to Kimberlite Candy and can take home a cheque.
