GOODWOOD

Race 3 No3 INDIAN CREAK (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

INDIAN CREAK found himself on the wrong part of the track when just out of the money at rain-lashed Salisbury last week. He should have finished closer and can bounce back at a course that should play to his strengths.

Race 5 No12 ELECTRESS
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

By Galileo out of Irish Guineas winner Just The Judge, ELECTRESS probably needed her race here last month and will be more streetwise. Any cut in the ground should also prove a boon for the selection, one of only two fillies in the field.

Race 6 No9 HMS PRESIDENT (Nap)
Trainer: Eve Johnson Houghton – Jockey: William Buick

As long as he doesn’t over-race in the early stages, HMS PRESIDENT can take home a big cheque in this stayers’ handicap. He’s grazed the woodwork in three valuable prizes and can deservedly go one better with the aid of first-time blinkers.

Race 7 No17 FANGORN (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

De Sousa could be the man to extract a bit more from FANGORN in this very competitive nightcap. The rangy selection is perfectly drawn to get a handle on early proceedings, and could prove hard to reel in.

NEWTON ABBOT

Race 2 No2 THE BIG BREAKAWAY (Nap)
Trainer: Colin Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

In a sizzling intermediate chase, THE BIG BREAKAWAY can state his case for high honours. The chestnut scored on his comeback last season, and though beaten a long way at the Cheltenham Festival and pulled-up at Aintree, has done everything right in his preparation at home.

Race 6 No2 WITNESS PROTECTION
Trainer: Martin Keightley – Jockey: James Best

Although he was soundly beaten on chase debut at Southwell, WITNESS PROTECTION remains a fine prospect for that discipline. This relentless galloper is fancied to put his foes to the sword.
