BEVERLEY

Race2 No5 RICH KING
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: PJ McDonald

This looks like a good opportunity for RICH KING to open his account. The Gleneagles colt went down by just half a length when worst off in a three-way blanket finish on turf debut at Thirsk, and is strongly fancied to take the spoils.

Race3 No6 GIVE IT SOME TEDDY (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman

GIVE IT SOME TEDDY should obtain a good position from which to counter on the uphill climb to the finish in this race round a right-handed bend. He’s put in four consecutive solid efforts, and after scoring at Thirsk was unsuited by a muddling pace at Redcar. He stayed on like a lion to chase home Farasi Lane at Sandown last time, and should get the true gallop that’s an essential requirement for his success.

Race 4 No4 BRANDO
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Tom Eaves

Ryan is going through a purple patch with his sprinters and looks to have the ready-made answer to this with BRANDO. While getting longer in the tooth, the nine-year-old need only repeat his recent fourth to Marianafoot in the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville to make short work of his foes.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 1 No2 DISCOMATIC
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson

DISCOMATIC landed some good bets at Brighton last week and with his confidence boosted can make a successful return to Polytrack. On his only previous start where he finished second, and can now go one better at the main expense of Miquelon.

Race 2 No2 HALCYON SPIRIT
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning – Jockey: Dougie Costello

Perennial bridesmaid HALCYON SPIRIT is given a final chance to deliver in what looks like a weak affair. His trainer has tried all sorts of headgear only for the Charm Spirit gelding to continuously fall short, but he appeared to do better in a visor last time, and the device is retained.

WARWICK

Race 1 No3 COBBLERS DREAM (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Case – Jockey: Jonathan Burke

Locally based Case is capable of introducing a useful type and in COBBLERS DREAM has an eye taking prospect. The Cork bumper winner has worked and schooled well ahead of this debut under Rules and first outing over hurdles.

Race 3 No5 PRESENT STORM
Trainer: Charlie Longsdon – Jockey: Brian Hughes

PRESENT STORM has run well in defeat through the summer after joining his handler from Ireland. His best effort to finish second in a Worcester handicap hurdle in July reads well, and she ran into a decent foe when occupying the same position back in maiden company last time. If putting her best foot forward she can account for the rejuvenated Countister.

NEWCASTLE

Race 8 No4 BRAZEN BOLT (Nap)
Trainer: John Quinn – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

It might pay off to wait for the nightcap for BRAZEN BOLT, who ranks as the only bet on a tricky Tapeta card. The four-year-old has been a good servant to his connections through the summer with back-to-back successes here and was narrowly denied the hat-trick at Thirsk last time.
