NEWMARKET

Race 2 JUDDMONTE ROYAL LODGE STAKES (Group 2)

No3 MASEKELA (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

The impressive MASEKELA should be seen in an even better light stepping up to a mile and can supplement has Listed win at Newbury with a first Pattern race triumph. The El Kabeir colt narrowly failed to take out the Group 2 July Stakes on the summer course here and given the subsequent exploits of the winner Native Trail is in a strong position to consolidate.

Race 3 JUDDMONTE CHEVELEY PARK STAKES (Group 1)

No9 SANDRINE
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert

SANDRINE had her wings clipped by Zain Claudette in the Lowther at York, but this impressive scorer of each of her three previous career outings has a great chance of turning the tables with that rival. Fillies that have done well in that trial often run prominently in this even better contest, and Sandrine may have more to fear from the unbeaten Irish raider Sacred Bridge, who was making it four wins on the bounce when taking out the Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh last time.

Race 4 JUDDMONTE MIDDLE PARK STAKES (Group 1)

No9 PERFECT POWER
Trainer: Richard Fahey – Jockey: Christophe Soumillon

It’s good to see the North represented by a worthy favourite in PERFECT POWER, who aside from an unlucky defeat in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood has done nothing wrong this season. The impressive Norfolk Stakes winner put in a career best to land the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville and though the horse he beat (Trident) fell short in a Group 3 here on Thursday, the overall package Perfect Power brings to the table should see him safe home, with Soumillon an eye taking booking. The one that could run better than it’s price indicates is Armor, who will relish stepping back to six furlongs and can earn.

Race 5 BET 365 CAMBRIDGESHIRE HANDICAP

No23 TRAIS FLUORS
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Martin Harley

One time Derby prospect Uncle Bryn has dominated the ante post market and could easily be a snip off his mark. He put his mid-season issues behind him with a cozy handicap win at Ascot, and needs respect. Astro King has been campaigned with this first left of the Autumn Double in mind. He put in a big earning run in Class 2 at York last time and possesses a classy profile. Majestic Dawn was a wide margin winner of the corresponding race as a 40-1 no-hoper 12 months ago and appears to have been campaigned with a repeat in mind. He is greatly respected but preference is for massive outsider TRAIS FLUORS. The seven-year-old landed some quiet bets when scoring at Sandown, but didn’t get any racing room in the Hunt Cup. He wasn’t beaten far in a warm contest at York and a recent defeat at Doncaster is best overlooked. This horse has come to himself and remembering he was a Group and dual Listed scorer when trained in France, is capable of getting into the shake-up.

Prediction: 1st TRAIS FLUORS, 2nd Majestic Dawn, 3rd Astro King, 4th Uncle Bryn

CURRAGH

Race 3 ALAN SMURFIT MEMORIAL BETESFORD STAKES (Group 2)

No2 LUXEMBOURG
Trainer: Aidan O’Brien – Jockey: Jamie Heffernan

LUXEMBOURG looked an exciting prospect when overcoming greenness to score on debut at Killarney and can give his trainer an amazing eleventh success on the trot in this annual pointer to the Classics. The son of Camelot saw out the mile by stretching further clear of his foes and looks to have more potential for improvement than Swan Bay, who landed some good bets when opening his account at Galway and is highly regarded.

Race 6 WILLIAM HILL IRELAND RENAISSANCE STAKES (Group 3)

No1 ART POWER (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

ART POWER has looked more at home over six furlongs than five this year, and if bringing his A-game to the table can make this a first success of the season. The grey, who landed a Group 3 at Naas last summer, need only reproduce the level of form that saw him trouble the judge in the Diamond Jubilee at Ascot and the July Cup at Newmarket to make it a second success from as many visits to Ireland.

CHESTER

Race 4 No3 SATONO JAPAN (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Mark Crehan

SATONO JAPAN has been something of an under achiever since switching from the all-weather to turf and was soundly beaten at Thirsk last time. That said he is a good worker at home, and can play a part in this if the cards fall his way.

HAYDOCK PARK

Race 2 No8 SAVVY VICTORY (Nap)
Trainer: Sean Woods – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

New Bay colt SAVVY VICTORY belied his 66-1 odds when running Israr to half a length at Doncaster. His trainer has excelled with his juvenile team this season and if in similar form a dominating display from the rail is in the offing.

MARKET RASEN

Race 4 No4 OSCAR MONTEL (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Longsdon – Jockey: Brian Hughes

The one with scope to improve as a chaser is OSCAR MONTEL. The blinkered gelding has won or been placed in each of his four starts over fences and hails from a stable going great guns with its early season runners.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 6 No4 CRIMSON SAND (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hughes – Jockey: George Rooke

A dual all-weather scorer in the early part of the year, CRIMSON SAND has shown a marked preference for sand by positing a win at this course and also a second on latest start. If he can overcome a high draw he could boss this sprint and rates the best bet on the card.

Place Accumulater Perm (Races 2-8)
