AYR

Race 2 No13 AFTER JOHN (Each Way)
Trainer: Harvey Bastiman – Jockey: Andrew Mullen

AFTER JOHN didn’t get the best of runs at Hamilton last time on only his fourth appearance of the year. This mercurial character has had his issues but can prove a surprise packet of putting it all together.

SEDGEFIELD

Race 4 No9 SERGEANT (Nap)
Trainer: Milton Harris – Jockey: Mitchell Bastyan

SERGEANT is reported one the worse for a first flight exit at Newton Abbot. He had put in a much-improved effort to score cosily in first-time cheekpieces on previous start at the West Country track, and can now regain the winning thread.

Race 6 No5 MILLIE THE MINX
Trainer: Dianne Sayer – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

Several of these go to war on the back of recent successes, but MILLIE THE MINX is the one that stands out. The mare has won on three of her last five starts over hurdles and should enjoy switching back to jumps after a disappointing effort on the Flat at Hamilton.

WORCESTER

Race 5 No8 DYNAMIC KATE
Trainer: Neil Mulholland – Jockey: Lewis Stones

After doing her best work at the finish when third over course and distance last time, DYNAMIC KATE looks in a good spot to raise her game further in this conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle. She is operating from near the base of the weights, with a top pilot in the irons.

Race 7 No1 PERCY’S WORD (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

This should see fellow hat-trick seekers PERCY’S WORD and Ragamuffin fighting out the finish with a preference for the former. His back-to-back successes at Stratford indicate that he’s ready to carry a big weight on this handicap debut, especially his defeat of the smart Camprond last time.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 4 No10 PETAL POWER (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

PETAL POWER stayed on well at the business end of a similar contest at Redcar to record her best effort to date. She switches back to Tapeta here but has a good slot close to the fence to obtain a stalking position off which she can attack in the short home straight.

Race 6 No4 SIR EDWARD ELGAR (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Rab a Havlin

SIR EDWARD ELGAR can notch a first win since January on a first visit to Dunstall Park. The No Nay Never colt tries a new trip which he appears to be crying out for.
