YARMOUTH

Race 4 No10 BERYL BURTON
Trainer: John Berry – Jockey: Faye McManomen

BERYL BURTON has climbed the ladder, improving from race to race in her four starts this season. Having opened her account when stepped up to this mile and a quarter trip at Ffos Las she has strong prospects of following-up.

Race 5 No10 JANIE JONES (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Thore Hammer Hansen

Hansen has a good strike-rate with his rides for Channon and can up her game on this first handicap assignment. The Le Havre filly has trained well since obtaining a mark, and is better than she has shown so far.

Race 6 No3 BONITA B (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand

BONITA B has frustrated on more than one occasion, including when backed into favourite and finishing second in a better race than this at Nottingham. That was her tenth earning run in sequence and shows she’s holding her form for what will hopefully be a belated first strike today.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 2 No6 ZHANG FEI
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Sean Levey

Camelot colt ZHANG FEI put in a career best when supported in to favourite in a similar contest at Ripon. He went well in his winding-up gallop for this and is in a good place in the weights to open his account.

Race 3 No11 POET
Trainer: Roger Varian – Jockey: William Buick

POET has had a leg in every county in his three outings to qualify to run in nurseries, but this well-related individual could prove a different proposition in this new sphere. It would be no surprise to see him raise his game, getting weight from each of his foes.

Race 5 No1 INFRARED (Nap)
Trainer: Martyn Meade – Jockey: William Buick

Pivotal colt INFRARED attracted market support on his Sandown debut when beaten just threequarters of a length into third in the race won by Reversion. He will be more streetwise for this return to the track.

Race 6 No9 SIR EDWARD ELGAR
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

Consistency has been the hallmark of SIR EDWARD ELGAR, who after a couple of near-misses was again in the money when stepping up over course and distance last month. From a good place in the gate he should again be competitive.

Race 7 No5 TOROMONA
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick

TOROMONA met some smart foes in his first season, chasing home Maximal at Sandown and Royal Champion at Newmarket. He need only have held that level of ability to open his account on a belated return to racecourse duty.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 5 No5 CU CHULAINN (Nap)
Trainer: Brian Meehan – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Narrowly beaten on his Lingfield introduction, CU CHULAINN again has the luxury of being piloted by the champion jockey, and from a perfect pitch close to the rail can go one better.

Race 6 No7 PEARL BAY
Trainer: Henry Candy – David Probert

PEARL BAY has earned on both starts since her stunning Salisbury success and has room for improvement as the least experienced contender for this fillies’ handicap.
