Neil Morrice Best Bets & Tips – Monday 7 June

Neil Morrice brings us his best bets and tips for Monday’s racing from across the UK.

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from Leicester, Lingfield Park, Windsor and Pontefract.

LEICESTER

Race 4 No5 HIGHEST GROUND (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

Many fingers were burned when HIGHEST GROUND bombed out on seasonal return at Sandown. The Frankel colt had been working the house down but fell away tamely in the Group 3 won by Waldkonig. He’s thought capable of much better, and should outclass his foes in this conditions race.

Race 5 No13 DANCING TO WIN
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Ben Curtis

Although finding one to beat her in all three of her career starts, DANCING TO WIN has the wherewithal to get it right this time. The form of her comeback race at Beverley has been devalued, but she’s worth another chance given the overall quality of her form.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 3 No3 TIE A YELLOWRIBBON
Trainer: Terry Kent – Jockey: William Buick

TIE A YELLOWRIBBON is no star but did enough on her return to indicate she’s within an ace of posting another success for her trainer. She will offer up decent value in a race where most of the runners are out of form.

Race 6 No6 SAGITTARIUS (Nap)
Trainer: Archie Watson – Jockey: Luke Morris

Showcasing colt SAGITTARIUS has the points on the board in this maiden, having run into a smart foe in Gift Horse at Wolverhampton. He is likely to go forward for that promising first offering and will be hard to beat as the best bet on this card.

WINDSOR

Race 2 No4 LADY DOLLARS (Each Way)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Having shown abundant promise to take home a cheque on debut at Windsor, LADY DOLLARS might have found her Goodwood race coming too soon. She finished last on that occasion but has been given plenty of time to get over it, and can bounce back.

Race 5 No12 SEA SYLPH (Nap)
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand

It’s hard to get away from SEA SYLPH who narrowly failed to deliver on her Doncaster debut last autumn and is the subject of encouraging reports from Newmarket for this seasonal reappearance. The daughter of Sea The Stars is going to enjoy this longer trip and is one to follow.

Race 7 No10 GONE MOD (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Rob Hornby

After a couple of solid efforts in defeat, GONE MOD can deservedly open her account as one of the most experienced runners in the field. It took a long time for the penny to drop with her, but in current form she is earmarked for another big earning run.

PONTEFRACT

Race 6 No5 DYNALI
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Franny Norton

DYNALI opened his account in taking style at Chelmsford and has to be taken seriously on this quick reappearance under a penalty for a trainer that does well with his staying handicappers. The booking of top lightweight Norton is another box ticked for the five-year-old.

Race 7 No2 BERGERAC (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Kevin Stott

Prolific winner Excel Power might have to give best in his bid for a four-timer to BERGERAC. The selection landed some good bets with real authority at Pontefract. That came after several near misses and indicates the gelding has turned the corner.

Place Accumulater Perm (Races 1-7)

4, 6 x 2, 1, 4 x 3 x 9, 6 x 4 x 5, 4 x 2
