SALISBURY

Race 2 No3 LARK LANE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

Carded to start as a roughie in this novice stakes, LARK LANE needs to improve but has the ability to do that. He was very green on his midfield finish at Chepstow but could have learned plenty from it to enable him to get into the shake-up.

Race 3 No7 TARTAN CHIEF
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Luke Morris

Dark Angel colt TARTAN CHIEF finished a creditable third to Albahr on debut at Haydock. Juvenile form from that track tends to be strong, and he will have a more streetwise edge to him this time.

Race 5 No5 NELL QUICKLY (Nap)
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Hollie Doyle

The best bet on the card is NELL QUICKLY, who was very good value for her winning margin in a Chelmsford maiden and then looked unfortunate not to follow up on handicap debut at Sandown where she didn’t enjoy the rub of the green and finished best of all, but too late. This well-regarded daughter of The Gurkha can put her best forward.

Race 6 No1 SISTERANDBROTHER
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

Sixties Icon colt SISTERANDBROTHER looks to have been found a soft option in a race that’s cut up in his favour. He left previous form behind when second on handicap debut at Chepstow and has been in good form at home subsequently.

Race 7 No4 SINGLE
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

SINGLE has been a captain of industry for her connections, running consistently well through the season and showing she was not out of her depth when seventh to Stratum in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot. She gets on famously with Bass, who will wait as long as he dares before pressing the button today.

PERTH

Race 3 No8 DANCING DOUG
Trainer: Alistair Whillans – Jockey: Callum Bewley

The strong travelling DANCING DOUG needs to be waited with as long as possible, as he doesn’t find much off the bridle. The eight-year-old has earned in seven of his ten starts for this trainer and deserves a change of luck.

Race 4 No2 DUKE OF NAVAN
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

Veteran DUKE OF NAVAN rarely walks away without earning his connections a cheque, and while you need to look back to January 2018 for his latest success, he’s been in especially good form in four outings this year, posting figures of 2324. He is well suited to the small field that awaits him for this first visit to Perth.

STRATFORD

Race 1 No4 ONEONECHOP
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Tom Scudamore

Multiple French winner ONEONECHOP is a fascinating recruit to the Pipe stable and could easily outclass his foes. His five successes on the level make him of considerable interest for this first outing under Rules.

Race 7 No11 HEY BOB
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Lewis Stones

Hold up horse HEY BOB needs a market check on his first start for the Murphy stable. His trainer is adept at improving one, and the fact the selection has had wind surgery since his last outing makes him even more interesting.
