NEWTON ABBOT

Race 1 No1 BEHOLDEN (Nap)
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

Juddmonte cast off BEHOLDEN has made a good start for his new trainer with earning efforts on both outings over jumps at Huntingdon and Stratford. A smooth winner of a bumper here on his first career outing, he should enjoy today’s slightly longer trip.

Race 2 No4 ISOLATE
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

Although readily put in his place on chase debut at Stratford, ISOLATE remains a fascinating recruit to fences and is worth persevering with. He will have learned plenty from that initial experience, and can bounce back.

STRATFORD

Race 2 No3 DRAKES WELL (Nap)
Trainer: David Bridgwater – Jockey: Archie Bellamy

The sound jumping of DRAKES WELL can prove an ace card for the gelding in a race he could dominate. He ran one of his best races when second to Barrowmount here in May, and of the main protagonists is the one most likely to produce a similar level of form.

Race 4 No1 US AND THEM
Trainer: Joseph O’Brien – Jockey: Tom O’Brien

US AND THEM is a most interesting runner from Ireland and appeals as the one to beat under top weight in this handicap chase. Since failing to reward some fancy ante post bets in the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival he’s endured mixed results, but is easily capable of raising his game and justifying his long journey here.

REDCAR

Race 4 No2 MANIGORDO
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

Although running a bit flat on latest outings at Thirsk and York, MANIGORDO has a great chance of taking this if able to recapture his early season form. His trainer can do little wrong with his sprinters.

Race 7 No5 TIE A YELLOWRIBBON (Nap)
Trainer: Terry Kent – Jockey: Harry Burns

TIE A YELLOWRIBBON did us a good turn when notching her first win on turf at Yarmouth, and with that confidence boost can now follow-up. Quite a few of the field are hard to dismiss, but the Poet’s Voice grey impressed that day, and is in very good order.
