FONTWELL PARK

Race 4 No2 UNAI (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Luca Morgan

UNAI looked progressive towards the end of last season, rounding off with a pleasing win which should have served to bolster his confidence. His trainer does well with this type of individual, and he’s fancied to make an impact in the day’s feature.

Race 5 No3 TOP MAN
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Joshua Moore

TOP MAN isn’t the most obvious of choices and has some unimpressive form figures but can prove a surprise package if rediscovering his good form from a while back, which he easily can.

KELSO

Race 1 No1 TRAILBOSS (Nap)
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Paddy Brennan

TRAILBOSS has been a work in progress for his upwardly mobile trainer. He impressed in his first win under Rules and has a skipped a recent opportunity to wait for the better ground he’ll encounter today. Highly regarded, he makes plenty of appeal for a yard that can do little wrong.

Race 5 No1 FIRST LORD DE CUET
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Fergus Gillard

FIRST LORD DE CUET has always promised to find his niche over fences and although far from fluent when third on his first venture in a chase needs to be given the chance to redeem himself as he’s the highest rated of these over hurdles.

UTTOXETER

Race 2 No1 ADJALI (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Daryl Jacob

ADJALI has very few miles on the clock and demonstrated that he’s a horse starting to make up for lost time when bolting up at Kempton. That performance showed how much he’s benefitted from a second wind operation and he can take the spoils on the way to better things.

Race 4 No3 BORN SURVIVOR
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

This feature remembering the man who rebuilt Uttoxeter is wickedly competitive, and a race in which it’s hard to score your pen through anything. BORN SURVIVOR and Falco Blitz are my two against the field, with slight preference for the former. He was beaten just over ten lengths by Frodon in Sandown’s Celebration Chase and takes a class element to the table.

Race 7 No8 FLINTEUR SACRE
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

It should be Henderson again, this time with the enigmatic FLINTEUR SACRE. The close relative of Sprinter Sacre has refused to settle since landing a bumper on debut under Rules. Exaggerated waiting tactics were deployed at Kempton last time but to no avail. However, if this talented individual consents to chill in this bigger field he will be a threat to all.
