Neil Morrice brings us his best bets and tips for Goodwood and Perth.
Race 1 No11 FANGORN (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Nicola Currie
FANGORN is ridden by a girl in most of his work at home, and gets the female touch from Currie as an eye taking runner from the base of the handicap. This front runner has thrived in his work since a midfield finish in a hot handicap at Newbury, and from a good draw on ground he likes could take some catching.
Race 3 No4 FLASH BETTY (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
Channon has a good record in this seller and FLASH BETTY has the ability to help consolidate that statistic. The Gregorian filly has displayed a chunk in her armour in that she hung to the right on latest start at Leicester, but if her jockey can get her settled she could make a big impact at the business end.
Race 6 No5 TIGER BEETLE
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
Camelot colt TIGER BEETLE improved from his first run back to place behind Third Realm at Nottingham. His training seems to have found him a good opportunity to get off the mark before going handicapping.
Race 3 No9 SARVI (Each Way)
Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Harry Reed
SARVI is going to start a big double-figure price but could easily run above it granted her good record at getting into the money on previous visits to this course. She ran well on the Flat at Musselburgh at the end of May, while the trip and ground should suit.
Race 5 No9 FORGOT TO ASK (Each Way)
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: Ciaran Gethings
The featured Perth Gold Cup can see FORGOT TO ASK consolidating an impressive record of consistency. He’s really come of age this year, and after scoring at Plumpton and Market Rasen can further raise his game by denying the Bet365 Gold Cup winner Potterman, with LANDOFSMILES a longer priced horse to include in all exotics.
