EXETER

Race 4 No7 SERGEANT (Nap)
Trainer: Milton Harris – Jockey: Mitchell Bastyan

SERGEANT has the look of a horse with plenty more improvement to come. Had he not taken a first flight fall at Newton Abbot, the German-bred gelding would be unbeaten in three this season. He cosily landed the spoils on latest start at Sedgefield, and will be very hard to beat.

Race 5 No6 SERJEANT PAINTER
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Kielan Woods

Any support for Guy De Guye might prove worth following, but the one with the best transparent claims is SERJEANT PAINTER. He deservedly opened his account for the season at Stratford and looks nailed on to perform to that level, as he’s been a model of consistency since joining his handler in the spring.

Race 7 No4 GUINNESS AFFAIR
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Kevin Brogan

This competitive finale can go to GUINNESS AFFAIR, who makes abundant appeal on handicap debut, and can complete a four-timer. The Fuisse gelding has landed some good bets at Stratford and Fontwell and should have more to give in this new sphere.

WORCESTER

Race 4 No7 ADMIRAL BALKO
Trainer: Jane Williams – Jockey: Chester Williams

Jakamani won well last time and should make a bold bid to lead throughout, but the one to be on is the novice ADMIRAL BALKO. The selection got his act together on the final start of his first campaign and is fit and ready to progress from that Wincanton triumph.

Race 6 No9 I LIKE TO MOVE IT (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

I LIKE TO MOVE IT is bred to enjoy some cut in the ground, and is a useful addition to the novice ranks after landing his first two bumpers and running respectably in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. He’s worked and jumped well at home in preparation for this clash with Halo Des Obeaux.

AYR

Race 5 No7 RHYTHM (Each Way)
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: Joanna Mason

The consistency shown by RHYTHM can manifest itself with a victory in this sprint handicap. The Acclamation filly is out of a mare by July Cup winner Compton Place and is therefore all about speed. She was only narrowly denied on debut for her new trainer at York, which augers well for an earning run today.

Race 8 No11 ONE NIGHT IN MILAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Keith Dalgleish – Jockey: Billy Garritty

The unexposed ONE NIGHT IN MILAN has the wherewithal to take out this stayers’ handicap. On only a fourth career start over jumps the winning hurdler went down in a head Bob at Catterick and has looked more assured since undergoing wind surgery in the spring.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 2 No1 HIGH VELOCITY
Trainer: James Tate – Jockey: William Buick

Buick looks a significant booking for HIGH VELOCITY, who can live up to his name against the fillies True Icon and Turna. The grey was no match for Light Infantry on debut at Yarmouth but has learned much from that effort, and won’t mind dropping back to the minimum trip today.

Race 7 No4 PUFFIN ISLAND
Trainer: Henry Spiller – Jockey: Elisha Whittington

PUFFIN ISLAND is a shade unfortunate not to have won her last three, getting pipped in photos at Lingfield and this course after scoring here in August. She will surely take home another cheque from a favourable draw and at her favourite track.

Race 8 No7 LINDWALL (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Luke Morris

LINDWALL holds the card in the nightcap following cosy successes at Lingfield and Wolverhampton. He’s looked a different horse since climbing the distance ladder in handicaps, and probably has more to offer.

Place Accumulater Perm (Races 2-8)

1 x 7, 6, 11 x 4, 3 x 3, 6 x 8, 3, 1 x 4, 1, 3 x 7
