Race 2 No6 DAIQUIRI FRANCAIS (Nap)

Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rob Hornby

Havana Gold filly DAIQUIRI FRANCAIS can have the whip hand over Summer’s Day in a cracking fillies’ nursery. She was an unconsidered 18-1 roughie when opening her account at Windsor in July, then showed she handles diverse ends of the going spectrum when scoring at long odds-on in the heavy at Haydock. Her trainer is a master with this type of individual, and she doesn’t look to have been overburdened for this first run in a handicap.

Race 3 No5 JAZZ CLUB

Trainer: Roger Varian – Jockey: Ryan Moore

Ever Given needs respecting as he bids to complete a big Sales race double. Successful in the York equivalent last month, he heads the market in the Hollywoodbets book but might find potential improver JAZZ CLUB too hot to handle. The Starspangledbanner colt broke his maiden in emphatic style at Windsor, looking like there was plenty under the bonnet, and is well regarded by his trainer. Furthermore he gets first-time blinkers for this £200,000 prize, and looks all over a hungry hunter from the Coolmore operation.

Race 4 Cazoo May Hill Stakes (Group 2)

No2 INSPIRAL

Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Frankie Dettori

This traditional Classic trial can see INSPIRAL remaining unbeaten and completing a fine hat-trick. The daughter of wonder colt Frankel has looked the real deal in both her wins at Newmarket and Sandown, with her most recent triumph in Listed company stamping her ultra smart. Her price for next year’s 1,000 Guineas should further contract with a victory over the promising Speak, who is the one for the exacta.

Race 5 Hippo Pro3 Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes (Group 2)

No6 FREE WIND

Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Frankie Dettori

Owner George Strawbridge might have to settle for minor pickings with Speak, but in FREE WIND the American looks to have a ready made answer to the day’s feature. The daughter of Galileo is not only proven on this galloping course but showed with a career best when landing a Group 3 at Deauville last month that she’s only just reaching the peak of her powers. She stayed the extended mile and a half well in France, a sign that today’s extra furlong and a half will hold no perils for her. If there’s a value alternative to the favourite it could emerge in the form of Urban Artist, whose trainer wouldn’t be running her unless he thought she would bring home a cheque. The lightly-raced YesYes has abundant potential, and might also get into the shake-up.

Prediction: 1st FREE WIND, 2nd Urban Artist, 3rd YesYes

CHEPSTOW

Race 2 No4 GREATNESS AWAITS (Each Way)

Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

The huge frame of GREATNESS AWAITS hasn’t been able to get out of its own way in four starts so far, with the colt starting at odds of between 50-1 and 200-1. However, he showed a bit more on handicap debut at Newbury last time, and is worth siding with in this lesser contest.

Race 7 No7 BURTONLODGE BEAUTY (Nap)

Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

BURTONLODGE BEAUTY has earned on both starts since her return from a mid summer break, and looked a shade unlucky when third to Devon Envoy on nursery debut at Chepstow. The daughter of Bingle Inthejungle is primed for another prominent showing, and can be competitive.

EPSOM DOWNS

Race 3 No7 EDINBURGH CASTLE (Nap)

Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Tom Scudamore

Connections of EDINBURGH CASTLE have ended up with the highest ranked rider in this race for jump jockeys and can look forward to a big earning run from the Sea The Stars gelding. Coming here on the back of nine earning efforts in succession both on the Flat and over hurdles, this versatile performer is ready to deliver.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 3 No5 SKY BLUE THINKING

Trainer: Adam West – Jockey: Sean Kirrane

Having done us a couple of favours here and at Wolverhampton, SKY BLUE THINKING has the ideal slot on the rail to get an early handle on proceedings in this race around a left-handed bend. The filly looked good value when completing a hat-trick and can defy a 6lb penalty to make it four on the bounce.

Race 5 No5 MIAMI JOY (Nap)

Trainer: Ismail Mohammed – Jockey: Neil Callan

MIAMI JOY has improved from race to race in a select campaign, and appeals as a colt with more to offer now united with long time Hong Kong based Callan, now back on home soil. The form of his Kempton second could hardly have worked out better, and he can take the measure of Sir Edward Elgar.

Place Accumulater Perm (Races 2-8)

2 x 5, 4 x 5, 9, 2 x 5, 6 x 9, 1, 8 x 4, 1 x 5
