BANGOR-ON-DEE

Race 6 No6 FAMOUS RESPONSE (Nap)
Trainer: George Bewley – Jockey: Jonathon Bewley

On a tough card, the best is left for last, with FAMOUS RESPONSE taken to endorse the promise of his previous races for a different trainer. He’s coming back from a protracted layoff but needs to be taken seriously, getting more than a stone from top weight Butler’s Brief.

SOUTHWELL

Race 5 No11 COLDEN’S DREAM (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

On another tricky card, COLDEN’S DREAM can deliver in a fascinating maiden hurdle. Under a waiting ride, he ran well on debut at Newton Abbot to chase home the impressive Trailboss, and can now go one better at the main expense of Rapid Flight.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 5 No1 EXCEL POWER (Nap)
Trainer: Archie Watson – Jockey: Hollie Doyle

Slade Power colt EXCEL POWER is going to be hard to stop on this first venture into a handicap. He’s been most impressive scoring at Wolverhampton and Brighton in April, but under top weight here can show just how good he really is.

Race 6 No3 JUSTIFIED
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Franny Norton

JUSTIFIED had to wait almost a year to revisit the winner’s circle, but he did so with a gritty display at Chelmsford, an effort which should have boosted his confidence for a clash with hat-trick seeking a London Eye.

NEWCASTLE

Race 1 No4 PORTFOLIO
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

Handicap debutant PORTFOLIO is a daughter of Deep Impact out of a Dubawi mare and has done nothing wrong in three outings to earn her a rating. Her earning run at the Newmarket Craven fixture was eye-taking enough to suggest she is going to do well in this new sphere.

Race 2 No14 POLAR CLOUD
Trainer: Heather Main – Jockey: Andrea Atzeni

POLAR CLOUD displayed a liking for this track when scoring with plenty in hand at the end of April. He receives no less than 26lb from top weight Briardale, who although in the form of his life will need to be at the top of his game to deny the selection.

Race 3 No9 REGAL VEGA
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Lope De Vega colt REGAL VEGA clashes with three other winners but might prove the pick. He tenaciously opened his account at Southwell and should be just as much at home on this Tapeta surface.

Race 5 No5 THIBAAN
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Dane O’Neill

Tinker Toy will command plenty of respect in the market but could find THIBAAN, who has the advantage of a run under his belt, too hot to handle. The selection shaped well to place on a first outing since undergoing wind surgery at Doncaster, a run that is thought to have brought him forward.
