Neil Morrice: International Racing – Tuesday 1 December 2020

Neil Morrice Best Bets

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from Lingfield Park, Southwell, Newcastle, and Wolverhampton on Tuesday 1 December 2020.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 1: No7 – TAYLORS THREE ROCK

Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Lee Edwards

TAYLORS THREE ROCK showed ability when finishing second on debut in a Listowel bumper and has subsequently changed stables. The daughter of Roderick O’Connor has been found a good opportunity to put that experience to good use, as this doesn’t look an obviously strong contest.

Race 2: No2 – ANYTHINGFORLOVE (Nap)

Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

Any hope ANYTHINGFORLOVE had of making an impact on her debut over hurdles disappeared with a slipped saddle. Her jockey performed miracles to negociate the remainder of the course for an earning finish, and the Black Sam Bellamy mare is now ready to endorse the promise of her two previous bumper triumphs.

Race 4: No4 – COLONEL KEATING

Trainer: Richard Rowe – Jockey: Niall Houlihan

COLONEL KEATING both jumped and travelled well on seasonal reappearance here, only getting worn down in the final strides by Avoir De Soins. He steps up to three miles and can gain a deserved first success over jumps in conditions that will suit.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3: No3 – EARLY MORNING DEW

Trainer: Harry Whittington – Jockey: Bryan Carver

EARLY MORNING DEW found himself in the deep end on debut in a very competitive bumper at Hereford won by Quid Pro Quo. He’s worked encouragingly since that November 2 contest to indicate there should be better to come in what looks a more straightforward assignment.

Race 4: No12 – TRUCKERS PASS (Nap)

Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Richard Johnson

Perennial bridesmaid TRUCKERS PASS is too good to remain a maiden for long. After finishing second in a maiden point in Ireland he’s occupied the same position in three starts for Hobbs, latterly when chasing home the useful Do Your Job at Haydock. There’s nothing of that class in today’s field, and he will be hard to beat.

NEWCASTLE

Race 2: No7 – DARLECTABLE YOU (Nap)

Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Rab Havlin

The blue-blooded DARLECTABLE YOU makes a late entrance to the racing stage in this mile and a quarter novice stakes but the daughter of Dubawi and Group 1 winning mare Dar Re Mi can make an immediate impact for top connections. Her relatives have shown a penchant for scoring on debut, and she can sweep aside the more experienced pair Castlebar and Kondo Isami.

Race 3: No4 – COUNSEL

Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Cieren Fallon

Another beautifully-bred individual, COUNSEL faces a number of eye taking rivals in this maiden but based on some encouraging signals from Newmarket can strike at the first time of asking. A market check is also advised with Fireworks and Camelot Tales, while the public form of Taravara also makes him of interest.

Race 4: No8 – VIVE LA DIFFERENCE (Each Way)

Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman

VIVE LA DIFFERENCE came good around this time last year when scoring back-to-back successes at this course. He’s been mainly out of sorts since then, but an earning run here last time strongly suggests he’s getting close to a return to the winner’s circle.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1: No8 – MO HENRY

Trainer: Adrian Keatley – Jockey: Dougie Costello

MO HENRY’s visits to Dunstall Park have been few and far between since his success here back in 2014. His latest efforts have happened at Newcastle, suggesting with to earning runs that he’s on the cusp of a return to the winner’s circle. This turn8ng six furlongs should play to his strengths.

Race 4: No4 – SECRETFACT (Nap)

Trainer: Malcolm Saunders – Jockey: Liam Keniry

The admirably consistent SECRETFACT has gained both his all-weather wins at this track, including a conversion at this level earlier in the month. He’s been ultra-reliable through the autumn and from a good draw looks set to make a good fist of it in this follow-up attempt.
