BRIGHTON

Race 7 No8 HONEY POT (Each Way)

Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Isobel Francis

On a tricky card for punters, HONEY POT could offer up some value on her handicap debut. The daughter of Iffraaj started 33-1, 50-1 and 200-1 in reaching the point she was handed a mark, but having strengthened up through the winter could show improvement.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 4 No2 LIGHTS ON (Nap)

Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Ryan Moore

LIGHTS ON has had issues going into the stalls but will be assisted in that area for this 0-85 handicap that should be well within her compass. She’s been doing everything right in the build up to this seasonal return which should result in a victory on her path to better things.

Race 5 No7 MOSTLY

Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Frankie Dettori

Stepping into Listed company for the first time, MOSTLY can rise to the occasion and make it two from two this season for her top connections. The daughter of Makfi impressed in a Kempton handicap at the end of last month, and even though this is a big jump up the ladder she’s capable to matching it.

Race 6 No2 LOSTWITHIEL

Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

LOSTWITHIEL is hard to weight up, as although he’s unbeaten the overall balance of his form suggests he will need to have improved from his comeback success at Wolverhampton. Helping him today is a welcome step up the distance ladder, and with free-running Hochfeld in the field the race should be run to suit him.

YARMOUTH

Race 6 No2 DAZZLING DAN (Nap)

Trainer: Pam Sly – Jockey: Ray Dawson

The drying ground has ensured the fields are depleted and so the only betting advice is DAZZLING DAN, who really takes the eye as a well-treated horse that just needs to recover a bit of his former gusto to win.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 4 No2 KALEIDOSCOPIC (Nap)

Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

KALEIDOSCOPIC ran into subsequent Gordon Richards Stakes winner Waldkonig in a Class2 handicap at Pontefract but was far from disgraced in getting to within three and a quarter lengths of that rival. This upwardly mobile filly returns to Polytrack for the first time since her debut last August but should be right at home and open her seasonal account.

Race 6 No10 SEAGULL’S NEST (Each Way)

Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

Penalised former winners Untold Story and Worthily will dominate the head of the market for this novice stakes but as a value alternative SEAGULL’S NEST is interesting. The daughter of Camelot is going to benefit from this step up to a mile and a half and endorse the promise of her comeback second to the useful Lost Eden at this course.

AYR

Race 4 No1 WILL SOMMERS

Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Kevin Stott

Top weight WILL SOMMERS can overturn recent Redcar form with Greengage thanks to a handy swing in the weights. Only half a length separated the pair that day, but it was the selection’s first run of the season, and he should come on for it.

Race 7 No6 TURANDOT (Nap)

Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: D Nolan

Beautifully-bred Frankel filly TURANDOT ran well on all four starts last year. She’s done well through the winter and can open her account with the benefit of a first-time hood.
