CATTERICK BRIDGE

Race 1 No1 INSTINCTION (Nap)
Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Graham Lee

With a hood fitted, INSTINCTION is an instantaneous Nap in the opener, looking to have all the bases covered. The Brazen Beau filly cost her supporters dear by drifting into the middle of the course at Beverley last time, rather than being able to tack over to the favoured far side. It’s best to draw a line through that effort and back her to return to winning ways.

Race 5 No2 ENTWISTLE
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Clifford Lee

Named after the bass player in The Who, ENTWISTLE can make his mark in what looks a three-cornered fight with Red Genesis and Cover Name. The Garswood gelding put in an improved showing on second start at Wolverhampton and has trained well on grass at home.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No3 YESYES
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rob Hornby

YESYES accounted for a well-regarded bumper performer on debut in May, and the Camelot filly is a name to conjure with in this novice stakes. She did not go I backed on that occasion and has the wherewithal to step up a gear to see off Oceans Meet.

Race 3 No6 TIGERTEN (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tuite – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Stepping up the distance ladder, TIGERTEN rates a solid betting proposition to follow up a highly impressive win at Chepstow last month in which he powered clear of his foes. He’s progressed from race to race this year, and might not have stopped yet.

UTTOXETER

Race 1 No8 DECORA (Each Way)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Marc Goldstein

Conduit filly DECORA stays well, and though yet to win in either racing code, could easily up her game. She’s run well to a point on both outings over hurdles so far, and if making normal progression from Stratford has to be in the mix.

Race 7 No2 ZIP PEARL
Trainer: Oliver Greenall – Jockey: Henry Brooke

Given the rub of the green, ZIP PEARL should have a big say in the outcome of this second division of the novices’ handicap hurdle. The Milan mare has played the bridesmaid role in back-to-back races at Bangor and Uttoxeter, and can go one better.

YARMOUTH

Race 4 No3 NOBLE PATRON (Nap)
Trainer: Simon Crisford – Jockey: Megan Nicholls

This race for female jockeys has attracted the cream of that crop. NOBLE PATRON will receive adept handling from his pilot and can make it a successful switch into handicaps after showing promise to earn in three of his four outings this season.

Race 5 No4 MEJTHAAM
Trainer: Charles Hills – Jockey: Jim Crowley

Runaway Wolverhampton scorer MEJTHAAM couldn’t back that up when contesting a York handicap, but only fell away in the closing stages of that six furlongs contest. Remaining in the sprint ranks, the Exceed And Excel filly can bounce back.

Race 7 No3 KNOCKABOUT QUEEN (Each Way)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Tom Marquand

KNOCKABOUT QUEEN usually requires a run to shake away the cobwebs, and should be straighter for her pleasing comeback effort at Windsor. The Sixties Icon filly looks in a good spot to put in a big earning run on her first visit to this track.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No8 POWER OF BEAUTY (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Louis Steward

POWER OF BEAUTY went into many notebooks when runner-up in a Beverley maiden on debut. The Slade Power colt failed by a narrow margin to hold Dark Moon Rising and this second run is nicely spaced out for him to go one better.

Race 5 No3 TWILIGHT SECRET
Trainer: James Tate – Jockey: Luke Morris

Returning from a four-month absence, TWILIGHT SECRET will surely give short shrift to his foes of able to build on an eye taking first outing behind Dragon Symbol back in March. Granted the subsequent achievements of his conqueror, he only needs to make marginal progression to account for previous winner Fabricated.

Race 8 No6 BIRD FOR LIFE
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: Charlie Bennett

BIRD FOR LIFE hasn’t shown her best all-weather form on this surface, but judging from her current level may be worth chancing. She’s won and placed at Lingfield on her latest outings and should put in another earning run.
