DONCASTER

Race 3 No2 TRAILA (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Rhys Clutterbuck

While respect is afforded to Sea On Time and Atlantis, TRAILA could leapfrog both in the improvement stakes and take this on his seasonal return. The Australia gelding did not go unbacked when scoring easily at Wolverhampton in the autumn and has done well for his break.

Race 7 No8 BANANA
Trainer: Scott Dixon – Jockey: Jack Duran

BANANA stepped up on previous efforts for her current trainer to take home a minor cheque at Nottingham. She looked happier returned to grass, and with the benefit of the run behind her can further progress to open her account.

SANDOWN PARK

Race 1 No1 BAKEEL
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Jack Mitchell

This Listed sprint gives BAKEEL the chance to bring his A-game to the table and resume winning ways. The son of Sioux Nation surrendered his unbeaten record with a solid effort behind The Ridler in the Norfolk Stakes and should find himself in calmer waters than for that Group 2 contest.

Race 3 No10 STORMBUSTER (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert

The same trainer looks to have the key to this novice race in the shape of Dubawi colt STORMBUSTER. The home bred shaped with abundant promise to trouble the judge on his Newbury introduction. He was green but has become more streetwise, and has the perfectdraw three off the rail to obtain a good position rounding the bend into the home straight.

Race 4 No4 CABINET OF CLOWNS
Trainer: Eve Johnson Houghton – Jockey: Charles Bishop

CABINET OF CLOWNS stylishly opened his account in a Salisbury novice for a trainer whose horses are generally on the money. The grey receives 11lb from Golden Voice and 10lb from Galiac and looks attractively weighted to upset that pair on his first run in a handicap.

Race 5 No5 REGAL REALITY (Each Way)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

Addeybb sets a high bar for his foes to aim at after a solid run behind Bay Bridge in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes here in late May. Any rain would further his cause, but one that can give him problems at a much longer price is the enigmatic REGAL REALITY. He wasn’t beaten far when earning a minor cheque in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot, and has run well on each of his previous visits here.

NEWTON ABBOT

Race 6 No2 NELSONS ROCK
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

NELSONS ROCK jumped beautifully when scoring over this course and distance a month ago, and can negate a 5lb weights rise for the success. He’s lightly-raced and can surely build on that on this second run over fences in what should prove a carbon copy triumph.

BEVERLEY

Race 1 No13 TRANSFER AFFECTION
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Kevin Stott

Acclamation filly TRANSFER AFFECTION kept on to claim a minor cheque on her Haydock debut behind the more experienced Family Ties. She’s going to know more about what’s required and for a stable whose juveniles are in good order she can take care of business.

Race 2 No8 SHERDIL
Trainer: Paul Midgley – Jockey: S James

Dandy Man gelding SHERDIL has a speed-biased chart on each side of his pedigree. He displayed a liking for this track when opening his account on only a third outing for his trainer, and from his handy mark at the base of the weights is in a good place to go back-to-back.

HAYDOCK PARK

Race 3 No3 HYPERFOCUS
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

HYPERFOCUS has troubled the judge in all but one of his five outings this year after returning from an absence of almost a year. He’s twice been denied in a photo and deserves to enjoy the rub of the green against the lightly-raced Abu Malek, who looks a big danger.

Race 5 No1 INANNA (Nap)
Trainer: Sean Woods – Jockey: Ben Curtis

INANNA hails from a stable that has a number of proven juveniles and did well to overcome greenness to score on her introduction over this course and distance. It’s never straightforward for winners trying to remain unbeaten under a penalty, but she could be well above average, and gets a confident vote to prevail.
