GOODWOOD

Race 1 No12 ROYAL SCOTSMAN
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Jim Crowley

ROYAL SCOTSMAN troubled the judge on debut in the Ascot race won by Noble Style. He stayed on in eye taking fashion, and with the benefit of that outing underneath him an give previous winner and paper favourite Kaasib plenty to think about.

Race 4 No7 MARSHAL DAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Heather Main – Jockey: Harry Davies

MARSHAL DAN ran on into the money on his return to the fray at Musselburgh, and has pleased his connections subsequently. He’s going to be sharper for that effort, and is well drawn in this race round a right-handed bend.

Race 5 No7 NATURAL WORLD (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick

NATURAL WORLD was put in his place in the Lingfield Derby Trial after trying to dominate and kick away from his foes turning into the home straight. He probably found himself on the wrong side of the track, and as that was only the second race of his life he has scope to bounce back and take out this Listed feature.

Race 7 No3 SINGLE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

Nathaniel mare SINGLE returns from an enforced absence as a stronger individual. She claimed black type in a Listed race at Bath last autumn and ran well on both visits to this course. Her ability to race on the bridle regularly ambles her to take home a cheque, and a similar fate awaits her as she’s ready for this first outing in more than 200 days.

HAYDOCK PARK

Race 5 No2 AEONIAN (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

Once raced Ulysses colt AEONIAN can preserve his unbeaten record in this warm looking novice stakes. He created a favourable impression with a battling debut success at Yarmouth last August and is much more the finished article following his winter break, and with some solid workouts behind him.

Race 7 No4 RICH KING
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Kevin Stott

RICH KING showed he’d gone the right way when placing on handicap debut at Redcar last month. The Gleneagles gelding will be more forward now, and hard to keep out of the reckoning in an open heat.

BATH

Race 5 No1 COLOMBE (Nap)
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: David Probert

COLOMBE is out to strike while the iron’s hot, returning to the track under a 5lb penalty for her success at Windsor on Monday. The daughter of Mehmas looks to have benefitted from a change of stables, and can follow-up.

Race 6 No3 SCHMILLSON
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert

Mashaaer sets the standard after her placed effort in Listed company at Newmarket, but SCHMILLSON represents a value alternative, having earned in each of four career starts, and only getting worried out of it late by Blueberry Hill in a novice at Epsom last month.

Race 7 No8 DELAHOUSSAYE (Each Way)
Trainer: Brian O’Rourke – Jockey: David Probert

DELAHOUSSAYE showed improved form to trouble the judge over this course and distance last week. On a third race in succession at this track he can do even better, and should post another frame finish at the least.

CATTERICK BRIDGE

Race 3 No4 TAXMEIFYOUCAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Keith Dalgleish- Jockey: Billy Garritty

Hold up performer TAXMEIFYOUCAN is fit from a hurdling campaign for this first run on the level since the autumn. It’s worth noting that on a 20th career start this is his first visit to a track whose tight turns should ideally suit his style of racing.

Race 6 No6 SIR ROBIN (Nap)
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: S James

Easy to back on debut at this course, SIR ROBIN nevertheless stayed on willingly to chase home Diamond Ranger. The grey hails from a stable that can do little wrong, and can prove too hot for Panama City to handle.
