CHEPSTOW
Race 2 No4 KARAKOY (Nap)
Trainer: Roger Charlton – Jockey: Trevor Whelan
KARAKOY sets the standard in this restricted novice stakes as he switches to turf after two earning runs on the all-weather. The Golden Horn gelding got this trip well at Lingfield last time and with the best form of offer should take care of business.
Race 3 No5 RHUBARB
Trainer: Richard Price – Jockey: Saffie Osborne
Consistency should count for a lot in the way this race unfolds, with RHUBARB starred to make it a fifth earning outing on the bounce. The Nayef mare gained all those pay cheques over this course and distance. She is taking her racing well and meets a largely out of form field of opponents.
SOUTHWELL
Race 4 No4 THE GALLAHAD KID
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Paddy Brennan
With two straight successes in bumpers THE GALLAHAD KID is unbeaten under Rules. Also a dual scorer between the flags in Ireland, he is a good jumper, and should have the measure of Absolute Ruler.
Race 5 No2 CLODY FLYER (Nap)
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes
CLODY FLYER looks a go-to bet on his first outing in a handicap under the champion jockey. The six-year-old eas an authoritative winner at Uttoxeter and Kelso, and goes out to bat with his tail up for this clash with No Recollection.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 4 No9 MUTASAWI
Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
Magna Grecia colt MATASAWI should put a first win on the board if confirming his superiority over Knicks. The pair finished second and third behind Biloxi Boy on their debuts at Ripon,and that form tops anyth8ng else on offer in the field.
Race 6 No3 GAME SET (Nap)
Trainer: Owen Burrows – Jockey: Jim Crowley
GAME SET a is by far the most interesting runner in this second division of the novice. The close relative of Razeyna is the only winner in the field, having achieved that on his Doncaster introduction. The form has been boosted by the second, making the Kodiac colt the best bet on the card.
WINDSOR
Race 3 No3 GARDEN ROUTE (Nap)
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand
GARDEN ROUTE returns from an enforced break having been gelded and endured a breathing operation. The form of his Kempton race has worked out, and this looks a very good opportunity for him.
Race 5 No3 LEXINGTON HERO
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass
The giant LEXINGTON HERO will be good value for this Class5 handicap if starting near his paper price. Although finishing last behind Blindedbythelight on a switch to turf he wasn’t beaten far, and his previous success and two near-misses at Wolverhampton give him a good chance of success.
Race 6 No2 MONTEVIDEO
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Joe Fanning
MONTEVIDEO drops back on the distance ladder after a good effort to place at Haydock. She has scope for progression of a stable that always reached its zenith in the mid summer period, and should open her account.
