FFOS LAS

Race 4 No1 WISPER
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning – Jockey: Dougie Costello

WISPER has the all round game to make an impression under a jockey that knows her well. All four of her career successes have happened at Brighton and she fluffed her lines on her only previous visit to this course last summer. However, she is suited by today’s ground and trip, and can put in another big earning run.

Race 6 No8 BIBULOUS (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Dane O’Neill

Camacho gelding BIBULOUS has been beaten as favourite on his last two starts including over today’s course and distance last month. His followers should take heart from that fact he came back with excuses from a recent visit to Goodwood, and if running as well as he’s been working this strapping individual can gain an overdue success.

HAMILTON PARK

Race 4 No6 SPANISH
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Lope De Vega filly SPANISH emphatically opened her account when switched to Polytrack at Kempton and now switches to handicaps with her tail up. She has to turn around Windsor placings with Shampion, but looks to have moved a long way forward since that clash and should do so.

Race 5 No6 MARHABA THE CHAMP (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Kevin Stott

MARHABA THE CHAMP looked an improved horse on his first run following wind surgery at Ripon where he made Nogwa fight for the spoils. The Galileo colt has plenty of scope for progression on just a fourth career start, and can foil the consistent Idemnify.

Race 7 No5 AYR POET
Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

AYR POET was a gritty scorer over course and distance at the end of last month, before losing out in a photo to Flylikeaneagle at Ayr. This admirably consistent performer looks in a good place to notch a fourth win at this Glasgow suburbs venue, with Retirement Beckons his main protagonist.

NEWTON ABBOT

Race 4 No6 STAR OF VALOUR
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

Useful Flat performer STAR OF VALOUR made an encouraging start to his jumps career when third in a similar contest over this course last month. The seven-year-old is going to be more streetwise and has a good chance of thwarting recent scorer Sea The Clouds.

Race 6 No4 ROMANOR
Trainer: Seamus Mullins – Jockey: M Nolan

It’s not easy to run your pen through the names of any of the four runners in this two mile handicap chase. But the one with the strongest credentials is ROMANOR who stripped a new broom when returning from a breathing op to annihilate his foes over course and distance last month. If turning up in the same mood the eight-year-old can make light of his new mark.

Race 7 No6 CADEAU D’OR (Nap)
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Tom Scudamore

CADEAU D’OR found himself short of room at a crucial time before finish third to all the way scorer Boomtime Banker at Plumpton. To his credit the chestnut rallied and having looked unlucky not to trouble the winner he’s worth backing to put the record straight.

NEWCASTLE

Race 1 No7 HILDENLY
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman

HILDENLY came from well off the pace and was unlucky not to prevail on just his second all-weather start here earlier in the month. The performance showed that a recent wind operation is proving of benefit, and as a so-called winner without a penalty, he can go one better.

Race 7 No2 THAAYER (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Connor Beasley

THAAYER gave it a good shot after being backed at Southwell last month, doing his best work at the finish, but too late to catch Mr Trevor. He’s a dual winner at this course, and rarely leaves the Gosforth Park track without picking up a cheque. It should prove a similar scenario tonight.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 2-8)

3 x 4, 6 x 2, 6, 1 x 5 x 6, 7, 4 x 2, 4 x 9, 12, 5
