HUNTINGDON

Race 3 No4 HANSARD (Each Way)
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Jamie Moore

New recruit to this yard HANSARD has worked and schooled well ahead of his seasonal comeback. Having landed a Ballinrobe bumper on a final start for his previous trainer, he will go well if transferring his home form to the racecourse on this firs5 outing over jumps.

Race 5 No7 FIRST IMPRESSION (Nap)
Trainer: John Quinn – Jockey: Billy Garritty

FIRST IMPRESSION was a smooth winner of a Class4 on the Flat before giving a good account back over hurdles in a better race than this at Cheltenham. He has few jumping miles on his clock, and could easily make more than the usual progression through the winter.

Race 6 Fitzdares Peterborough Chase (Grade 2)

No2 FIRST FLOW
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: David Bass

FIRST FLOW can post a second success in Huntingdon’s marquee race, having had the contest on his radar for some time. The ten-year-old is at his best on easy right-handed tracks, and showed with his 2021 success here and a third to Shishkin on his only other start last season in a Grade 1 chase at Ascot that he’s as good as ever. He’s shown in the past that he operates effectively returning from a break, and should have too many guns for the improving Pic D’Orhy.

Race 7 No1 QUEENS GAMBLE
Trainer: Oliver Sherwood – Jockey: Jonathan Burke

QUEENS GAMBLE looked something out of the ordinary when annihilating her Listed rivals in a Cheltenham bumper to remain unbeaten. If seeing is believing she will have no trouble in defying a 4lb penalty, and could be the horse to elevate her veteran handler into the big time.

KELSO

Race 4 No7 NICEANDEASY (Each Way)
Trainer: Nick Alexander – Jockey: Conor O’Farrell

NICEANDEASY palpably needed his first run of the season when fifth to the iron fit Houston Texas at Carlisle. Beaten just over five lengths that day, he had a good blow and will be more fine-tuned for this much longer Scottish Borders National. In an open betting heat, Cash To Ash and WakeUp Early are others to include in all exotic perms.

Race 5 No2 GIT MAKER (Nap)
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

GIT MAKER has been dropped 2lb for getting beaten on his chase debut at Sandown where he attracted market support. There was no disgrace in that effort against Solo, and he has been sharpened up sufficiently to have the whip hand over Grand Voyage in this.
