BRIGHTON

Race 3 No5 SOL ARGENT (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Alec Voikhansky

Punters might do well to be parsimonious with their wagering on the track’s final meeting of the season, but one that appeals as a bet and open to improvement is SOL ARGENT.

The Kodi Bear colt claimed a minor cheque on his Newmarket debut when starting at 50-1. True, he was beaten over 15 lengths by the winner Seacruiser, but juveniles from his stable can go a long way forward from their first outings to their second.

Race 5 No7 RICARDO PHILLIPS (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Nicola Currie

Named after a former assistant to Candy who himself is a long time licence holder, RICARDO PHILLIPS is a speculative choice to defy his 33-1 forecast odds. He’s shown little in four outings but could earn in this weak contest, with course winner CHOURMO one to save on.

CARLISLE

Race 1 No11 MALANGEN (Each Way)
Trainer: Lisa Harrison – Jockey: Charlie Maggs

Although he’s hard to win with, MALANGEN has earning claims in an open conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle. The eight-year-old hasn’t got much change out of his five career visits to this venue but usually finishes in the money more times than he is out of it, while he will be an each way price.

Race 2 No1 PARISENCORE (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

Strong traveller PARISENCORE makes only a second visit to this course and a first over fences, but that’s surprising as the stiff nature of its finish should play to his strengths. He was in good form through the summer, and is versatile regarding his ability to handle varying types of ground.

Race 7 No1 MINT GOLD
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Derek Fox

MINT GOLD ran well in a better race when last seen at Perth in April and is ready for this seasonal return competing from an unchanged mark. He posted figures of 1F22 in a select campaign last season, and when scoring at Musselburgh demonstrated how effective he is coming off a break.

WINCANTON

Race 1 No2 CELTIC DINO (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Dylan Johnston

Sam Thomas has a handful of exciting novices to go to war with this winter but CELTIC DINO could be the best of the bunch. The dual bumper scorer has schooled adeptly and is fully fit for his first run over jumps, and under the stable’s exciting conditional jockey Dylan Johnston should make no mistake.

Race 3 No3 FANTASTIKAS (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

As opposed to his rivals in this handicap chase FANTASTIKAS lacks a recent win to his name. But while you have to look as far back as January 2022 to discover the last time he scored over fences he’s got good recent form to bring to the table for a stable that’s going through a hot streak. He’s going to be preferred by two or three of his rivals in the betting, making him an attractive proposition.

Race 6 No3 ADMIRALTY HOUSE
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Tom Cannon

Before going into an enforced absence not far short of two years ago, ADMIRALTY HOUSE looked set for a bountiful career over jumps. He took out a Class3 on his first hurdles start and finished second in the next two at Huntingdon and Ludlow. His trainer has shown on many occasions that he can have a good horse ready when off a protracted break.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 3 No3 CHARLATAN (Each Way)
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Joey Haynes

For a horse with a high knee action who hits the ground hard CHARLATON has done well to win three times on the all-weather. That entailed a fine hat-trick at Kempton, Lingfield and Wolverhampton last January and February. The chestnut just needs to show he can operate at this course, though in fairness to him he made a podium finish on his only previous visit.

Race 4 No1 YOSHIMI (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: David Probert

Although not having much to shout about in a sequence of six outings on turf, YOSHIMI has won off higher marks than he competes off today, and is back on the bottom rung of the Class band. He has a very good draw, and if breaking handily can have a big say, with Probert an eye taking booking for him.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No5 FLUORESCENCE (Each Way)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

A market check is recommended on FLUORESCENCE, whose trainer is adept at having his two-year-olds well tutored for their first start. The Twilight Son newcomer has the pedigree to be quick, while likely favourite Shamrock Breeze is fully exposed and could prove vulnerable.

Race 7 No5 HERETIC (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Dylan Hogan

Herrington has done well with cast offs from other stables and in HERETIC he fields a fascinating contender running for the first time in 22 months. The chestnut enjoyed one visit to this track before opening his account at Newcastle. He’s clearly endured training issues, but first time back could be the time to catch him.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 3-9)

5, 3, 1 x 9, 1, 4 x 7, 9 x 10, 9 x 5, 10 x 3 x 9, 3
