MARKET RASEN

Race 3 No6 JESSMAE
Trainer: Henry Oliver – Jockey: Lee Edwards

JESSMAE is lightly raced over fences and seeks compensation for an error that knocked him out of his latest start at Catterick. His previous two chase outings were encouraging, including when he finished second here in November. He can put that experience to good use.

Race 7 No5 UN SENS DE LA VIE (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

Point winner UN SENS DE LA VIE changed hands for a king’s ransom and needs respecting for top connections on this first run under Rules. He’s been working well, and can prove a bet worth waiting for in the nightcap.

TAUNTON

Race 2 No1 CORNISH STORM
Trainer: Stuart Kittow – Jockey: David Noonan

CORNISH STORM was the meat in the sandwich between a couple of subsequent winners over this course and distance in November and three weeks ago enjoyed a readying run in the Flat. A podium finish that day should have blown away the cobwebs and made him cherry ripe to notch a first success under Rules.

Race 5 No6 THE WIDDOW MAKER (Each Way)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Freddie Gingell

THE WIDDOW MAKER was returning from a more than 700-day break when sixth of 14 behind Saint Anapolino at this course at the start of the month. He had a good blow and has come on for it, and can perform above his price in the market on what could be a final run over hurdles before he returns to handicap chases.

Race 6 No1 SHEARER (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Miss Olive Nicholls

An absence of 600 days held no perils for SHEARER when he engaged in what was a lap of honour at Ffos Las. It was the clinching leg of a hat-trick for the nine-year-old, who looks poised to take a high rank in the hunter-chase division.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 6 No2 MASTER TECHNICIAN
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: George Wood

In what’s sure to become a tactical affair MASTER TECHNICIAN can prevail. He landed some good bets when a clear cut scorer at Lingfield on New Year’s Eve and it was only in a three way blanket finding that he conceded to Misty Sky at Kempton last time. With Wood on board for the first time he can bounce back.

Race 7 No7 MATCH ANTHEM
Trainer: Peter Charalambous – Jockey: George Wood

Wood may also deliver on MATCH ANTHEM if the visored gelding can overcome an outer draw. The selection has knocked on wood on his last couple of outings but will enjoy a change of luck and today should be his day.

Race 8 No8 CHARLATAN (Nap)
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Taryn Langley

CHARLATAN has recorded all four of his career triumphs with Callum Shepherd in his saddle, but that statistic can change under the capable apprentice Langley whose record on the chestnut reads 234. The gelding was a winner at this track at this time last winter, and is making a welcome return to Dunstall Park.
