PLUMPTON

Race 1 No2 MARMALAID (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

Henderson’s runners at Plumpton are not as frequent as they once were, which is all the more reason to respect the claims of MARMALAID, who readily landed the odds laid on her at Ffos Las and holds scope for abundant improvement.

Race 4 No4 OLD PAINLESS
Trainer: Harry Whittington- Jockey: Daryl Jacob

If OLD PAINLESS’s underwhelming run at Newcastle is overlooked, he has a big chance of taking out this long distance handicap chase. The gelding went out like a light that day, but had earlier won n clear cut fashion here, and is having only a fourth outing over fences today.

Race 5 No5 DELGANY MONARCH
Trainer: Richard Rowe – Jockey: Tabitha Worsley

DELGANY MONARCH is getting to grips with the rudiments of jumping fences, as demonstrated when he finished third on his third start over the larger obstacles at Lingfield last month. He was doing his best work towards the finish, and can make this a successful first visit to Plumpton.

Race 6 No4 BROWN BULLET
Trainer: Andy Irvine – Jockey: Caoilin Quinn

BROWN BULLET makes a fourth visit in succession to her local course, with realistic chances of gaining a first success in two years. She lugged on to pick up a minor cheque but was gaining on her foes at the finish here last month and has an eye taking jockey booking this time.

MARKET RASEN

Race 3 No7 THE SAME (Nap)
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Fergus Gregory

Murphy rarely leaves this course empty-handed, and one of his best chances on the card is THE SAME. The German-bred gelding won his latest of three outings in Irish points by a few feet short of a distance. He’s been well tutored for this first run under Rules, and has more scope than market rival Sageburg County.

Race 6 No3 BOLD SOLDIER
Trainer: Warren Greatrex – a jockey: Dylan Kitts

Although finishing second on both his starts this season there’s nothing ungenuine about BOLD SOLDIER. The eight-year-old performed above the level his price suggested he would when behind Well Dick at Uttoxeter, and on this handicap debut he can go one better.

WETHERBY

Race 4 No2 HARTUR D’OUDAIRIES (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

The JP McManus-owned HARTUR O’OUDAIRIES has always been held in high regard, and his close second to Mr Freedom at Warwick was boosted when the winner ran a stormer under a slipping saddle in the Boodles Juvanile Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham. On only a fifth outing under Rules the six-year-old can open his account over jumps.

Race 5 No3 FAMOUS BRIDGE
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Sean Quinlan

The course form shown by FAMOUS BRIDGE at the start of the month produced a first win over fences at only the third attempt by the Fame And Glory gelding. With his stable amongst the winners he can build on that and post another triumph over the in-form Twoshotsoftequila.

Race 6 No7 RUMBLE B (Each Way)
Trainer: Justin Landy – Jockey: John Kington

RUMBLE B got going when the birds had already flown at this course earlier in the month. It was his third earning run from only four outings this season, and suggests a well overdue first career success could be in the offing.
