CATTERICK BRIDGE
Race 3 No6 UNMISTAKEABLE
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
UNMISTAKEABLE looks to have been trained with nurseries in mind and here she is contesting the first of the season. The daughter of Bungle Inthejungle just missed out on a place when gaining a handicap mark and comes back refreshed from a two-month break, although the draw hasn’t been kind to her.
Race 6 No7 PROFITEER (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
The same trainer/jockey combination can strike with PROFITEER, whose defeat of course specialist Langholm last time has been subsequently boosted. The chestnut has a plum draw from which to play a stalking role, and he can rubber stamp with a follow-up triumph his preference for the 1400 metres trip.
LINGFIELD PARK
Race 3 No8 WARMONGER (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Jack Gilligan
WARMONGER wouldn’t be one of the leading lights running out of Heath House but he’s going to relish the step up to two miles. Since stretching out on the distance ladder this season he’s shown marked improvement, while after three straight earning runs this should be his day.
YARMOUTH
Race 5 No6 IMITATE (Each Way)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote
The Stoute stable fires a twin attack on this fillies’ maiden, and while respect is paid to newcomer PREVAIL who has shown promise in her work at home, IMITATE can utilise her greater experience to good effect. The daughter of Frankel wasn’t beaten far when posting a midfield finish on her reappearance at Bath, and unless this ends up being her third run for a mark she should pose problems for paper favourite Kinako Mochi.
Race 6 No3 ANIF (Nap)
Trainer: a Michael Herrington – Jockey: Sam Fielden
Herrington has done well in revitalising the veteran ANIF, who though taking a walk in the market ran well to finish third here last week. He looked like he was coming to win his race, and might have been a shade unlucky. Furthermore, he has the beating of Alexander James and can bounce back.
FFOS LAS
Race 5 No12 BLUE JADE
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
Stablemates Amphus and Arolla will dominate the market but both are badly drawn which gives them an early disadvantage. Preference is for Mehmas newcomer BLUE JADE who enjoys the relative luxury of the rail in the mile contest, and may be good enough.
Race 6 No2 KING’S SCHOLAR (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez
KING’S SCHOLAR makes sense on his handicap debut following a strange run to obtain a mark at Leicester. Though attracting plenty of support he was soon on the back foot and never threatened, but the promise of his previous second placing at Salisbury is there for all to see. He is the least experienced in the field, but it shouldn’t matter.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 3 No2 MASTER BUILDER (Nap)
Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: Benoit De La Sayette
MASTER BUILDER endorsed the promise of his first run when getting off the mark under Sayette at Salisbury. The grey is better drawn than some of his market rivals for this step up in trip, and with his stable in good form can defy a penalty on the way to better things.
Race 5 No5 CADOGAN GARDENS (Each Way)
Trainer: Charlie Hills – Jockey: Tom Marquand
CADOGAN GARDENS wintered well and developed into a fine specimen only to underwhelm in both outings this year. The No Nay Never filly comes back from a short sabbatical tonight, and in an especially weak heat can raise her game to get into the money.
