LINGFIELD PARK

Race 4 No7 LILLY’S BET (Nap)
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Neil Callan

LILLY’S BET has mixed and matched between maiden, novice and handicap races and brings an experience edge to the table. Re-equipped with a hood, she went down by a paper-thin margin when stepped up to today’s 1400 metres here a fortnight ago, and from a favourable draw can prove hard to beat.

Race 8 No9 THE PUG
Trainer: Sylvester Kirk – Jockey: Rob Hornby

THE PUG enjoyed a purple patch at this time last season since when he’s gone eight outings without adding to his laurels. However, there were clear signs in his second placing behind The Bay Warrior at Southwell last week that he is on the cusp of a return to winning ways. Furthermore, he is well drawn and should get into the shake-up.

CARLISLE

Race 1 No4 MONETIZE
Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Andrew Breslin

MONETIZE posted a mid-division finish in a small field on what was an encouraging first offering at Thirsk. The Mohaather filly is going to be more streetwise and can open her account at the main expense of Thecla, who also showed promise on her first outing.

Race 5 No7 SOUTH POLE (Nap)
TrainerM George Boughey – Jockey: Callum Shepherd

SOUTH POLE hasn’t fared badly since being sourced as a cast-off from Ballydoyle where he showed promise in testing ground, and when equipped with blinkers. His new trainer reached for the same headgear for his latest start at Kempton where although out of the money he wasn’t beaten far. The gelding reverts from handicap company to a maiden today, and is drawn best of those at the forefront of the market.

Race 7 No5 ROACH POWER (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

ROACH POWER is another that found his best form at this time last year, but has subsequently been in racing’s wilderness. He’s yet to trouble the judge in six 2024 outings but has been given a chance by the assessor, whilst having conditions in his favour for a renaissance.

WORCESTER

Race 3 No11 LONG DRAW
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Sean Bowen

LONG DRAW was in good form when last seen in the late spring, gaining a deserved first success under Rules in a handicap hurdle at Ffos Las. He’s ready for this first run of the season, and should put more points on the board in an autumn and early winter campaign.

Race 4 No12 DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS hails from a yard that’s been doing well in the early days of the season and can take advantage of a class drop in this mares’ maiden hurdle. She proved costly when underwhelming on her latest start at Uttoxeter in late May when she was almost certainly over the top. Her trainer has probably played a trump card in giving her a break, and she strips fresh and fancied for this.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 1-7)

4, 2, 11 x 3, 9 x 11, 14, 5 x 12, 5 x 6, 3 x 10, 3 x 6, 2
