MUSSELBURGH
Race 5 No4 AUTUMN FESTIVAL
Trainer: Ed De Giles – Jockey: Joe Fanning
Selling plates have become a rare commodity in the racing sphere which is detrimental to the industry as a whole, whilst also being virtually lost as a good platform for punting. This surviving contest sees AUTUMN FESTIVAL operating at the bottom level for the first time, having finished tailed off behind Come On You Spurs in a Class4 at Epsom on Sunday. His form since joining his trainer has been underwhelming, but when you consider he was running in Class2s as recently as May he is worth chancing.
Race 7 No2 REEL HER IN (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Haslam – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan
REEL HER IN stayed on at the finish of her first run for this stable at Newcastle and enters calculations as the unexposed joker in this pack. In the colours of JP McManus she is definitely worth monitoring in the betting.
CATTERICK BRIDGE
Race 3 No2 KIRKDALE (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez
KIRKDALE finds himself in a tougher race than that which has to be cancelled at Pontefract last week. That said, the Zelzal colt brings strong form to the table and will be unlucky if he runs into anything as smart as Antonio Dvorak who beat him at Musselburgh.
Race 5 No12 LANGHOLM (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Connor Beasley
LANGHOLM broke a bout of seconditis over course and distance but has been badly drawn in three subsequent defeats. He’s been handed the rail off which to operate, and if getting onto the lead could be hard to claw back.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 1 No11 SEA JOURNEY
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark
SEA JOURNEY is beautifully bred being by Sea The Stars out of the classy Journey, an idiosyncratic individual who Gosden got the best out of. She forms part of a three-cornered attack on the prize from Clarehaven Stables, but following a very encouraging first run back can show with a first win that she’s its number one.
Race 4 No1 WILLEM TWEE (Nap)
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
WILLEM TWEE hails from a trainer that can take a good sprinter all the way up the ladder, and while the Ribchester gelding has a way to go before achieving that he comes here off the back of a pleasing though narrow Wolverhampton success which puts him on the cusp of stamping himself Listed or Group class.
Race 6 No6 JUNGLE MAC (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex
JUNGLE MAC returns from a short break in a race in which he has possibly the best of the draw. His record for Greatrex reads 3210, although he spoiled his chance on that latest start at Goodwood by getting het up in the preliminaries. He looked in good order when completing his preparation for this, and in a tough race can take away a cheque.
Race 8 No13 MARCHETTI (Each Way)
Trainer: Jimmy Fox – Jockey: Hollie Doyle
Camelot mare MARCHETTI has been ridden by Doyle to narrow defeats in two of her last three outings, the first being over this evening’s course and distance. Stall 3 gives the combination to obtain a good early sit, and in receipt of weight from everything else in the race, an earning display is on the cards.
