BATH

Race 3 No5 PEGGOTY (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

PEGGOTY showed that easy conditions hold no perils for her when runner-up to Nazanin at Newbury in what was probably a better race than this. She can build on that pleasing effort and will be hard to beat.

Race 8 No7 EAGLES DARE
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

This stable is amongst the winners and in EAGLES DARE fields a strong candidate for the nightcap. The Free Eagle gelding ended his juvenile campaign on a winning note at Chelmsford in the autumn, and although being well beaten on both outings this year will be fitter for this, with the champion jockey in the irons.

BEVERLEY

Race 3 No9 ROCKPRINCESS
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Tom Eaves

Juveniles from this stable are often primed on introduction, making ROCKPRINCESS of interest against some more experienced rivals whose form is not over-inspiring. The Belardo filly is a speedily-bred individual who could have the wherewithal to deliver first time.

Race 5 No8 PROUD ARCHI (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Connor Beasley

A first-time visor could work the oracle for PROUD ARCHI to gain a fully deserved first success of the year. The selection has been narrowly denied in recent races at this track and Thirsk, and at revised weights can turn the tables on Ugo Gregory from his latest visit.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No1 ACTIVIAL
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: Tom Scudamore

ACTIVIAL is another for whom the application of headgear can prove beneficial. The veteran has been in good form this year, finishing second in a valuable hurdle at Auteuil on his latest start. He sported first-time blinkers on that occasion and is now ready to win.

Race 5 No2 OLYMPIC CONQUEROR
Trainer: Dr Richard Newland – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

OLYMPIC CONQUEROR landed some good bets at Uttoxeter last month, and despite having to fight for the spoils looks good for a follow-up under a penalty. His trainer’s summer jumpers are going great guns, and he can add to the tally.

Race 7 No7 PINNACLE PEAK (Nap)
Trainer: Martin Keighley – Jockey: Sean Bowen

Connections of PINNACLE PEAK are rightly trying to strike while the iron’s hot with the six-year-old, who absolutely bolted up at Worcester last week, and now seeks a hat-trick under a penalty. He had that contest won a long way out, and probably hasn’t stopped improving.

BRIGHTON

Race 2 No3 DIAMONDS DANCING (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: David Probert

DIAMONDS DANCING might have finished closer at Windsor last time had she obtained some cover. Her sixth placing behind The Princes Poet is better than it looks on paper, and as this is only her third career start there should be an abundant improvement in her.

Race 3 No5 FLAME OF FREEDOM
Trainer: Eve Johnson Houghton – Jockey: David Probert

Taken out last week because of unsuitable ground, FLAME OF FREEDOM can get the job done at the third time of asking. Her astute handler appears to have found an easier assignment here, and she is a country mile ahead of her foes on form.
