PONTEFRACT

Race 5 No3 REGAL REALITY (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

The Listed feature looks at the mercy of REGAL REALITY, a Group 3 winner at around this time last year and far from disgraced when beaten only two and threequarter lengths into sixth behind Tilsit in the Group 2 Summer Mile at Ascot last time.

Race 6 No1 TELE RED (Each Way)
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Sophie Clements

TELE RED acquired a mark for handicaps when posting a midfield finish at Hamilton on seasonal return. It’s interesting that his connections have elected for him to remain in maiden company, and he can post an earning run in what looks a weak affair.

MUSSELBURGH

Race 3 No6 FIREBOMB (Nap)
Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Graham Lee

Atomic Lady sets the standard in this hot nursery, but in spite of her strong claims preference is for FIREBOMB. He’s had to play second fiddle in each of his last three outings in maidens but has always looked the type to do better in handicaps, while he’s getting a handy 7lb from his rival.

Race 6 No1 NORTHERNPOWERHOUSE (Each Way)
Trainer: Bryan Smart – Jockey: Graham Lee

With many in this knocking on the door, NORTHERNPOWERHOUSE could be the way to go as he’s run well in three of four outings this season and is more likely than most to reproduce his recent form. His trainer’s sprinters are in good order, and his jockey has ridden him in every one of his 23 starts which is a remarkable statistic.

Race 7 No2 LET ME BETrainer: Keith Dalgleish – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

With six successes from eight starts in 2021 LET ME BE is a credit to his trainer, and can repeat his triumph over course and distance at the end of April. The five-year-old has taken a hike in the ratings but keeps indicating there is more to come.

UTTOXETER

Race 3 No6 MORDRED
Trainer: Paul Webber – Jockey: Tom Scudamore

A decent handicapper on the level, MORDRED made an eye taking switch to jumps at Stratford, chasing home the more experienced Butte Montana. The Camelot gelding will be more streetwise now, and can turn the tables on that foe.

Race 4 No2 STORM HOME
Trainer: Colin Tizzard – Jockey: Harry Cobden

A cosy scorer in a Listed race over course and distance last month, STORM HOME is now 10lb higher but could easily have had that much in hand. He’d finished second in three of his four outings but the manner of the triumph coming after a near two month break suggests he can put together a sequence.

Race 6 No2 RHYTHM IS A DANCER (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

RHYTHM IS A DANCER impressed when powering home on seasonal return at Stratford. Operating from a 4lb higher mark for his handicap debut over fences, he can follow-up at the main expense of Sizing Cusimano.
