Naas Best Bets
Race 1: MOMUS (12)
Trainer: Noel Meade
Trainer: A Short
Plenty of interest in this will be directed at the unexposed Face The Facts and Hotel Du Nord but a safer option is MOMUS who is a model of consistency and likely to run his race. If able to match the form he showed to chase home All For Joy over this course and distance last time he should win.
Race 4: CAMELIA DE COTTE (3)
Trainer: Willie Mullins
Jockey: Paul Townend
Although it’s hard to rule any of the five runners out in this fascinating novice chase, CAMELIA DE COTTE can stretch his impressive winning sequence in receipt of a useful 5lb from Jetz. He dominated over this trip at Thurles last time setting a pace that I doubt Jetz will be able to match here, but the last-named contender is taken to follow him home.
Musselburgh Best Bets
Race 2: COOL VALLEY (4)
Trainer: William Young
Jockey: Stuart Coltherd
The senior member of the party, COOL VALLEY fully deserves a change of luck after a string of frame finishes. This race could be set up for him if Le Frank elects to set the pace but the selection’s pilot needs to delay his challenge as late as possible.
Race 3: MIXBOY (2)
Trainer: Keith Dalgleish
Jockey: Brian Hughes
An eyecatching jockey booking for the ultra consistent MIXBOY who can advertise his liking for this course. Forcing tactics almost paid off for him at Wetherby only for Movie Legend to reel him in but that form has received a notable boost, with the latter going in again last week.
Warwick Best Bets
Race 4: IMPERIAL NEMESIS (3) (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies
Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
Having so far failed to build on the promise he showed in a bumper and on his return to the track in a Chepstow novice, IMPERIAL NEMESIS can raise his game and give his connections a good omen for their Cheltenham runners. He went out very tamely in a similar contest at Leicester but on the evidence of his home form is better than that.
Race 8: CHANTRY HOUSE (7)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson
Jockey: Barry Geraghty
Cost connections a king’s ransom after winning an Irish point over three miles and has been thwarted by unsuitable ground from running under Rules, latterly at Newbury where he was backed as if defeat was out of the question. Can start to make up for that lost time and definitely one to follow.
