WARWICK

Race 1 No2 GOODBYE STRANGER (Nap)

Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Daryl Jacob

This is the time of year when Henderson readies his candidates for the Triumph Hurdle and looks to GOODBYE STRANGER to bolster his claims for the juvenile hurdle ins championship. There was a great deal to like about the way the Kapgarde gelding got the job done on jumps debut at Kempton. His closest rival Kentucky Hardboot endorsed the form when beaten a whisker in a jumper-bumper yesterday.

Race 3 No12 MY WHIRLWIND

Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Aidan Coleman

In a similar vein, Henderson is looking closely at individuals from his impressive bank of mares that could make it into the Seven Barrows team for Cheltenham. His runner here MY WHIRLWIND cost £400,000 after scoring on her point debut, and although that was almost two years ago she is worth more than a market check, having been given all the time needed to strengthen up and mature into her frame.

Race 7 No15 THE WORLDS END

Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Adrian Heskin

Warwick will be delighted to attract an 18-runner field for one of the first hunter-chases of the season. Happily the field includes a handful of traditional hunters that boast impressive records, with Highway Jewel, Back Bar and Vinnie Lewis names to conjure with. However, the class act is surely THE WORLDS END who is a Grade 1 winner over hurdles and landed two of his four outings as a novice over regulation fences. He was out of the money on debut for this stable in another Grade 1 at Ascot, but if transferring his ability to this discipline will be hard to beat.

Race 5 No6 TWILIGHT MADNESS  (Nap)

Trainer: S Hodgson – Jockey: Hollie Doyle

TWILIGHT MADNESS showed he is on a favourable mark by fairly trouncing his foes on handicap bow over course and distance last week. He clearly loves the Polytrack surface and has to be of serious interest reappearing quickly under a 6lb penalty. It will take something smart to stop him.

Race 7 No7 TINSMITH

Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Shane Kelly

One of the most interesting runners on this card is TINSMITH. The grey didn’t show anything initially after moving to his trainer as a cast off from a big Flat stable. However, he upped his game at Lingfield last time, finishing second in a Class 6 under today’s jockey. Granted further improvement he can give the hat-trick-seeking favourite HERON plenty to think about.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 7 No2 HEY HO LET’S GO   (Nap)

Trainer: Mark Hoad – Jockey: Luke Morris

After four near-misses in his last five starts there would be no more deserving a winner of the nightcap than HEY HO LET’S GO. For a strong finisher he got into a handy position very quickly here last week, only to get nailed on the line by Capla Spirit. Timing is everything to the Nap, who needs to be delivered as late as possible.
