Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets from Brighton and Bath on Friday 7 June.
Brighton Best Bets
Race 1: INYAMAZANE (5) (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Charles Bishop
A tricky heat to unravel at first sight with four of the five runners money earners but INYAMAZANE should be hard to beat after losing out in a photo to Applecross over course and distance two weeks ago. She’s a sharp individual and this trainer’s two-year-olds should reward support in the coming weeks.
Race 5: GARRISON COMMANDER (3)
Trainer: Eve Johnson Houghton
Jockey: Tom Marquand
The way GARRISON COMMANDER finished off his race over a shorter trip than this at Leicester indicates he will relish the conditions. Though never quite living up to expectations in his juvenile season the blinkered selection finds himself in a very winnable heat as he goes down the handicap route.
Bath Best Bets
Race 2: DEAR MIRIAM (3)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Silvestre de Sousa
DEAR MIRIAM kept on in plucky fashion to bustle up Agravane at Beverley, looking in the process like a filly who wouldn’t mind stepping up in trip. Over a quarter mile further, and with the champion jockey booked, she should prove hard to beat.
Race 5: CORONATION COTTAGE (11)
Trainer: Malcolm Saunders
Jockey: Charles Bennett
The Saunders stable is a great supporter of its local track and CORONATION COTTAGE has a good midfield draw from which to attack. The selection has already Post a win over course and distance this season and didn’t do too much wrong when reeled in by Red Alert last time. That track craft should stand her in good stead.
