Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Sunday’s racing at Doncaster and Salisbury.
Doncaster Best Bets
Race 5: CELTIC MANOR (2)
Trainer: William Haggas
Jockey: Danny Tudhope
Although he had to be ridden right out to open his account at Windsor, CELTIC MANOR goes into battle as the least experienced runner in the field and therefore open to a good amount of improvement. He should appreciate the step up to six furlongs, while his stable is in good form on the approach to Royal Ascot.
Race 6: STORTING (1) (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: David Egan
It’s down to STORTING himself that he hasn’t won yet, At Naas he threw away what looked certain victory at Carlisle by hanging. Heavy rain made the ground heavy, and while that didn’t bother him he revealed a trait that had also hindered him on his previous start at Ripon. Top weight is unlikely to stop him on this handicap debut.
Salisbury Best Bets
Neil Morrice brings you his Best Bets for the turf card at Salisbury on Sunday, June 16
Race 1: JUNGLE JUICE (3)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: George Bass
It’s a while since JUNGLE JUICE visited the winner’s enclosure but apart from recent winner Stallone this is a poor field and he should go close. His inexperienced jockey has ridden him in plenty of work at home.
Race 5: ARCHER’S DREAM (6)
Trainer: James Fanshawe
Jockey: George Wood
The featured Cathedral Stakes can see ARCHER’S DREAM complete a hat-trick and remain unbeaten. He’s a three-year-old taking on older horses but it’s hard to know how good he is. Hugely impressive in landing the odds at Yarmouth last time, he moves from Class 5 to Listed in a big jump, but I think he’s up to it.
