Neil Morrice: UK Racing Tips – Sunday 23 June 2019

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from Sunday’s racing at Pontefract and Hexham.

Pontefract Best Bets

Race 1: INYAMAZANE (5)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: David Egan

Setting the standard for the others to aim at, INYAMAZANE can open her account despite having been afforded the worst of the draw. She disappointed her connections when beaten by Taxiwala at Brighton but is better than that, and can demonstrate it with an overdue first win.

Race 3: HATS OFF TO LARRY (5)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Callum Shepherd

Arguably unlucky not to be unbeaten this season, HATS OFF TO LARRY should enjoy the stiff finish here and can regain the winning thread. He’s shown in his last three starts that there’s improvement in the locker and he’s worked beautifully in preparation for this.

Hexham Best Bets

Race 1: HEY BOB (8) (Each Way)
Trainer: Chris Grant
Jockey: Liam Murtagh

The strong travelling HEY BOB didn’t do much wrong when chasing home Melody Of Scotland over course and distance earlier in the month and given a fast pace to aim at can pick up his foes on the uphill climb to the finish.

Race 5: LORD ROCCOCO (12)
Trainer: Phil Kirby
Jockey: Tom Dowson

LORD ROCOCCO looked the winner for much of his comeback run over a longer trip here last month, only to get picked off and outstayed after the last. He can utlise that course experience to good effect to go one better returned to the minimum trip by his shrewd trainer.
