Neil Morrice: UK Racing Tips – Wednesday 10 July 2019

Jockeys ride horses

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Wednesday’s racing at Kempton Park, Bath, Lingfield, Yarmouth and Catterick.

Kempton Park Best Bets

Race 4: PADURA BAY (11)
Trainer: Mark Usher
Jockey: David Probert

As one of the least experienced in the field and getting weight from each of his ten rivals, PADURA BRAVE has claims that might be overlooked by the majority of bettors on this race. While the 25-1 he started at Leicester last time is unlikely to be matched, we should still avail a decent double-figure price about the selection who can get into the shake-up.

Race 8: NEFARIOUS (1)
Trainer: Henry Candy
Jockey: David Probert

The ultra-consistent NEFARIOUS has a couple of recent winners to contend with but the move back to seven furlongs on sand seems sure to suit him. He only gave best on the closing stages of his latest outing at Windsor, having placed in a better race at Sandown on his previous start.

Bath Best Bet

Race 7: BUTTERFIELD (3)
Trainer: Tony Carroll
Jockey: E J Walsh

The fast ground that almost inevitably prevails at this course will suit BUTTERFIELD whose last two efforts make him the best of a bad bunch. He stayed on into the money after getting a second wind at Yarmouth and looks like getting the fast early pace he needs to aim at as there are a couple of confirmed front runners in the field.

Yarmouth Best Bets

Race 6: MODEL GUEST (6)
Trainer: George Margarson
Jockey: Tom Queally

If the formbook is to be believed, MODEL GUEST is a good thing for this after finishing just out of the money in the ultra-competitive Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot. Starting at 50-1, she arrived from well off the pace to cross the line in fifth, just two and a half lengths adrift of the winner Thanks Be. Nothing in the field can hold a candle to her and she should open her account.

Lingfield Best Bets

Race 6: BARTAT (4)
Trainer: Mick Channon
Jockey: Callum Shepherd

A rail draw can help BARTAT get an early handle on this nursery as she returns from a two-month freshening break. She can open her account at the main expense of the penalised Dream Kart who has to concede 12lb.

Race 7: VOLTAIC (6)
Trainer: Paul Cole
Jockey: David Probert

For the first time this year VOLTAIC seems to have everything in his favour. His form to chase home 80-rated Alfred Boucher over course and distance is the best on offer, he will be suited by the ground and can break from the rail. His form figures of 4222 give a misleading impression as he’s a thoroughly genuine performer.

Catterick Best Bets

Race 5: LEVER DU SOLEIL (7)
Trainer: Gavin Cromwell
Jockey: C Lee

Dual-purpose performer LEVER DU SOLEIL has been making hay while the sun shines and bids to follow-up a hard-fought success at Ayr where he was backed as if defeat was out of the question. Prior to that he scored at Musselburgh whilst also running well over hurdles. The way the penalised 4yo took time to peg back Sbraase in the Ayr race indicates this three furlongs longer trip will suit.
