Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Wednesday’s racing at Yarmouth, Fontwell and Haydock Park.
Yarmouth Best Bet
Race 7: ABUSHAMAH (5)
Trainer: Ruth Carr
Jockey: Roman Scott
ABUSHAMAH is performing at a level that strongly suggests he can maintain his rich vein of form in this apprentice handicap. He gets good assistance from the saddle, should enjoy the underfoot conditions while his trainer has her horses on good order.
Fontwell Best Bet
Race 1: EDDY (3)
Trainer: Sue Gardner
Jockey: Sean Houlihan
Third time lucky is the rallying cry from EDDY as he tries to better a couple of recent near misses. The ten-year-old meets largely out of form rivals and has an effective conditional rider taking 3lbs off his back. It looks a recipe for success.
Race 1: GEOMATRICIAN (2)
Trainer: Andrew Balding
Jockey: David Probert
On his third start GEOMATRICIAN can make further improvement to cause hot favourite Swift Wing some problems and the selection will enjoy going up the distance ladder whilst being able to handle the extreme underfoot conditions. He plugged on to secure a frame finish behind Logician at Newbury and that form has worked out pretty well.
Race 3: ZZORO (13) (Each Way)
Trainer: Amanda Perrett
Jockey: Royston French
The strong-travelling ZZORO doesn’t always find as much as expected at the end of his races but these conditions should suit him better than the seven-runner affair in which he finished fourth at Windsor last time. Granted a stronger pace to aim at he can get into the argument and pick up some prize money.
