Kempton Park Best Bets
Race 3: I’M AVAILABLE (11) 6/1
Trainer: Andrew Balding
Jockey: Oisin Murphy
Although opposed by a couple of unbeaten colts and an impeccably-bred newcomer, I’M AVAILABLE should be cherry ripe to open her account after two eye-catching efforts this year. The wagers that caused her to start favourite over this 1600 metres at Lingfield last time went west when she was unable to hold Reggae Runner, but Andrew Balding’s filly can now demonstrate she is better than that.
Race 4: MAJESTIC DAWN (5) 2/1
Trainer: Paul Cole
Jockey: Raul Da Silva
The subject of a quiet gamble on his debut at Chelmsford in January, forcing tactics never quite looked like paying off for MAJESTIC DAWN against the more experienced Originaire but my selection has improved mentally for that. In retrospect, his pilot might not have set a strong enough gallop considering the stamina levels of the colt who can outpoint previous scorer Don Jupp.
Catterick Best Bets
Race 3: PINK LEGEND (8) 9/4
Trainer: Venetia Williams
Jackey: Charlie Deutsch
These sharp turns should play to the strengths of PINK LEGEND, who made a good fist of trying to lead throughout in a similar contest at Bangor, rallying when headed by Collooney at the final flight. With no other confirmed pacesetters in the field, jockey Deutsch could enjoy the luxury of getting his mount into an easy lead.
Race 4: PULL TOGETHER (3) (Each Way) 5/1 | 8/10
Trainer: Stuart Edmunds
Jockey: Cieren Gethings
This race cries out ‘value’ with the eight confirmed starters ensuring three places and at a double-figure price PULL TOGETHER can raise his game returning from a layoff. Having ended the 2017-18 season on a high note when consistency was his trump card, the 7yo needed his comeback at Fontwell and can show he is better than that.
Fontwell Park Best Bet
Race 6: EGLANTIER (1) 5/1
Trainer: Mark Bradstock
Jockey: Nico de Boinville
Mark and Sara Bradstock do well with French-breds and EGLANTIER has shown promise in his preparatory work for this. With just five runners a tactical race is assured but despite his lack of previous experience EGLANTIER can cause a minor upset by upstaging dual scorer Lily The Pink.
Lingfield
There are no advices for the Lingfield meeting which has suffered in numbers owing to a boycott by trainers protesting against prize money levels provided by the Arena Racing Company. A total of just 19 horses are set to contest the six-race fixture.
