Magic Tips Preview
The top class three-year old JANOOBI was rather surprisingly restrained in his last sprint but there isn’t much chance of that under regular pilot ‘Striker’ today.
He meets some brilliant older rivals and jumps from a wide barrier but the mile on this course suits him perfectly as was demonstrated in his penultimate run and the Mike de Kock inmate can cause a major upset today.
This is undoubtedly his biggest test yet but it does help that many of his rivals still won’t be at the top of their game.
That applies to the joint favourite for the upcoming July, MARINARESCO who was all class in his comeback win on his return to this province in early May over a distance short of his best.
He will be fitter but the mile should again be on the sharp side for the son of Silvano whose good draw is a plus.
The brilliant grey filly BELA-BELA had a smart last sprint in preparation for this contest and she is an obvious contender from her good draw.
She was just a long neck adrift of MARINARESCO in the Met in her penultimate start.
TRIP TO HEAVEN is a top class sprinter who of course lost this event in the boardroom a year ago and will be hoping to make amends.
He is best weighted on official ratings.
