Race 6

The day’s value bet, ZING only saw daylight at the 300M mark before finishing strongly to end up third last time out over seven furlongs, one and a half lengths behind the winner when returning from a 14-week rest. On that effort, he is sure to appreciate the extra ground on offer here. His draw three will do him no harm.

STEELY was hampered in the closing stages when missing out on his hat-trick last time out when stepping up to nine furlongs, ending up in fifth place, 2.2L back from the winner. His previous two victories had come over seven furlongs and a mile, so the drop in distance of today’s contest should be to his liking. He faces a wide gate eleven, but he should be doing his best work late.

GREAT HOUSE on the other hand has cracked pole position. He is the stable companion to the top choice and drops in distance after finishing fourth in his latest outing over 1900M, just over four lengths adrift of the victor. He had nothing go his way that day, jumping awkwardly and then over racing in the early stages, followed by coming four wide into the straight and then finally spreading a shoe in running. With better luck in running today, he makes a strong back-up for the yard.

Race 7

PARRY SOUND is seldom far off the action and has finished second in his last two runs, the latest over ten furlongs where he made good late progress to end up just under half a length behind the winner. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and from gate six, he will be looking to make amends here.

KNIGHTS ORDER tried to go from jump to wire before finishing six in his last start over ten furlongs, 3.4L adrift of the winner. He has a handy draw two and is likely to attempt similar tactics today.

THE GOOD FIGHT showed marked improvement to win his last run over eleven furlongs in New Zealand and returns to Australia to have his first start for his new trainer. He has pulled draw seven, but if fully settled into his new surroundings, he should be respected in this line-up.

Race 8

MUBARIZ has won two of his last three starts, the latest over nine furlongs by a neck, despite coming four wide into the home straight. He has his peak run here after returning from a 13-week break and battled all the way down to the wire in that last outing. Although facing draw ten, he is taken to be the best bet on the card.

MR DEPENDABLE missed out on his hat-trick when finishing 12th last time out over a mile, 7.3L adrift of the winner, but he did move up four-wide approaching the home turn which would have done him no favours. He did win his penultimate outing over this trip and from a kinder gate four, he will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways.

PANDANO raced up with the leaders and then stayed on well to finish eighth in his latest outing over a mile, 4.2L off the winner. He will have to overcome a wide draw fifteen, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

Race 9

EXOTIC RUBY has consistent formlines to her name and finished fourth last time out over six furlongs, just over a length back from the winner. She was hampered in early running and then came four-wide into the home straight that day, so can be considered to be an unlucky loser. She has pole position and should be right up there when they hit the line.

EXPAT missed her trio of victories when fourth last time out over 1100m, just under three lengths adrift of the winner when returning from a 13-week rest. She did however only see daylight at the 350M mark that day and should have finished closer to the winner than she officially did. She jumps from draw six and should not be lightly dismissed here.

MAJESTIC SHOT jumped awkwardly before ending up in second spot last time out over 1100M, two and a half lengths behind the winner. She faces a wide draw thirteen out of fourteen, but on the plus side, she will have 3kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice. She should be included in all bets.
