Winning Form Comments:
SUMMER PUDDING kept her hopes on winning the Triple Tiara alive with a courageous win over a mile last time out. Her connections felt that the trip would be the most difficult for her and that the further she went, the better she would get. Should they prove to be correct, she may prove difficult to beat.
She can however expect stiff competition from the likes of RIO’S WINTER and MILL QUEEN.
The former is drawn in pole position and retains the services of Piere Strydom. She challenged strongly when just a neck behind the top selection in their last clash in the race mentioned above and on that run, she too should enjoy the step up to nine furlongs.
MILL QUEEN has her second run after a rest and was was just one length behind SUMMER PUDDING that day. She is however drawn one from the outside which won’t make her task any easier.
DANCING FEATHER is the only runner on the day from visiting KZN trainer Gavin van Zyl’s yard. Her record of two wins, one second and two third place finishes from five starts speaks for itself and she could trouble the top three selections starting from her mid-field draw.

Winning Form Comments:
IKIGAI has been super impressive in his last three victories. He goes the nine furlongs for the first time this afternoon, but the manner in which he delt with his rivals last time out over a mile would suggest that this would hardly be a problem. Luke Ferraris, who has been aboard in his last two wins, retains the ride and the pair start from a handy draw.
FROSTED GOLD is drawn one inside the former and did finish 1.75L behind in the race referred to above, but as they meet on the same weight terms this afternoon, he may have to settle for second best once again.
SHANGO is the stablemate of the top choice. He has his hat-trick outing today, but has a wide draw to overcome which is not in his favour.
WESTERN FORT has an even wider draw to contend with, but only just failed in his hat-trick run when he raced with a slipped saddle. He is not without a chance in today’s contest.
