Race 4:  ALDERBARON(7)
Jockey: Sean CORMACK – Trainer: Frank ROBINSON

ALDERBARON stays well and he has shown some very good recent form. He was outrun late over 2500m in yielding conditions at Clairwood last time and meets an ordinary field today. Cormack retains the ride on the son of Black Minnaloushe and he has strong claims of going one better.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

HIGH HORSE LADY has issues but she showed a welcome return to form when she ran on eye-catchingly for third, beaten two lengths at the hands of EDUCATED over this trip at Greyville. She rises in class but meets her conqueror on 2kgs better terms and has a big chance of reversing the form from pole position. She has experienced racing on this track which will stand her in good stead. The latter also has some problems but she found her best form when she kept going well to win her last start. She was handed a four pound penalty but is still lightly raced and she must be respected again.

Jockey: Sean CORMACK – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

JOYFUL SPIRIT has lots more ability than her recent form shows and the fitting of blinkers could make a huge difference to the daughter of Daylami. She had promising form prior to her last three starts and more importantly has a definite affinity for this track. She has won 3 of her 5 c & d efforts. However, she hasn’t travelled well in the middle stages of the contest in her last few starts and the headgear should negate that. She is well treated at the weights and could bounce right back to her best form and take some beating.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Pat LUNN

MR WHATEVER loves this c & d and brings solid recent form into this event. He was outrun late into 2nd by subsequent winner Kingston Boy over this trip at Greyville last time. However, that was in a handicap and he conceded a whopping 7kgs to his conqueror. The son of Mogok is extremely well treated at the weights on official ratings and he should take a power of beating. Anton Marcus retains the ride and he was successful for this stable on this course on Tuesday.

Race 6: KENTUCKY GUEST(5) (Each Way)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON – Trainer: Doug CAMPBELL

KENTUCKY GUEST had excuses for his below-par last effort but he may well be at his level best up to seven furlongs. He finished strongly for a close third over this c & d in his penultimate outing, despite being distressed and has definite claims in this line-up. He holds FRIAR TUCK safe on that effort and merits respect with his regular pilot aboard. The latter is seldom beaten far and gets the services of an in-form apprentice. However, he has his work cut-out to reverse the form with the top rating.
