Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: FIRST SEA LORD(2)
Race 2: OPEN YOUR HEART(9)
Race 5: GREY’S A ROCKIN(9)
Race 7: LEEULOOP JET(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: CAKEWALK(2)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Eudey C G

CAKEWALK could only manage to be 2nd best behind a highly regarded juvenile over a mile on this track last time but the lightly raced four-year old did run on well. She returns from a 12 week break and is the clear first pick of the older guard. The daughter of Dynasty gets the services of Anton Marcus and she should go very well.

Race 3: SAME JURISDICTION(3) – TOP BET
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Howells D C

The brilliant filly SAME JURISDICTION makes her seasonal debut after a great end to her last campaign. She produced a strong finish to win a Grade 1 over a mile from a wide draw at Greyville last time and now begins what could be another great season for her. This is a prep run before she heads off to the Cape but she is extremely well treated by the weights and she should take a power of beating, despite facing male rivals.

Race 5: GREY’S A ROCKIN(9)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Tarry S G

The three-year olds have it all to do at the weights over this demanding distance, so early on in their careers, but they face ordinary older rivals and could dominate the outcome. GREY’S A ROCKIN has been knocking hard at the door for some time now and he brings ultra-consistent form into this event. He was given too much to do when he finished strongly for 2nd over this c & d, seven days ago. The Greys Inn colt was 2nd best behind a Mike de Kock inmate and he could get the most cheek from another entrant of that powerful yard. Anton Marcus has been given the resposibility on the Tarry colt and the pair are the one’s to beat.

Race 7: LEEULOOP JET(2)
Jockey: Sturgeon I – Trainer: Moffatt S

The Gauteng raider LEEULOOP JET handles the travelling well and he finished strongly for a good 3rd in a feature over 1750m, the last time he raced on this track. He found his form with a smart last win on the Highveld over ten furlongs and may have escaped with just a three pound penalty. The Lion Tamer gelding is his stable’s only representative on this card and he should go very close in this line-up.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 8: SERGEANT TIBBS(7)
Jockey: Forbes A – Trainer: Forbes L

SERGEANT TIBBS benefitted from both his comeback performances as he bounced right back to form when outrun late into 2nd after setting the pace over ten furlongs on Greyville’s polytrack, five weeks ago. He picked up a four pound penalty for his troubles but is much better drawn today and can build on that run. He has experience on this track and is another who is the only representative of his yard on today’s card. The Black Minnaloushe gelding should be very competitive.
