UPRISE has shown fair ability in her four runs to date but she could show her true worth with blinkers fitted today. The daughter of Black Minnaloushe has proven to be effective on both local surfaces and she should show big improvement with the headgear.

SEATTLE SPELL was making steady late headway over shorter in his comeback run ten days ago and he will strip fitter now. The inmate from the Howells yard posted his career best effort when going close over this c & d three starts ago and he should bounce back to form here.
Race 4: CAPE FLING (IRE)(7)
CAPE FLING showed his class and determination to narrowly defeat subsequent winner Chicago Beat over this trip on his return to the province recently. The Cape resident was handed the minimum two-pound penalty but will strip fitter and certainly has more to offer. He is equally capable on the grass and is well-weighted in this contest.
SPEED OF AFRICA clearly benefitted from his trainer’s patience and he showed quality when shedding his maiden tag in soft conditions over 1750m three weeks ago. He was returning from a 40-week absence and raced wide on that occasion but blew his ordinary rivals away in the closing stages. The well-bred son of Ideal World takes a steep leap in distance and class but will undoubtedly strip fitter and he does seem to have a bright future. The obvious concern is whether he races too soon.
