Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: ST PETER’S BAY(2)
Race 4: PERSIAN RUG(2)
Race 6: MAMBO(8)
Race 7: TAKAMAKA(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: TROPICAL’S SON(5)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Paul LAFFERTY

The Mambo c & d formline on 01/02 is well-represented in this low-key handicap and TROPICAL’S SON was the fastest finisher in that contest. The four-year old bay gelding ran on powerfully from his wide draw to finish just one length adrift of his conqueror and his top jockey and better draw could make all the difference.

Race 3: SECRET WARNING(2)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Charles LAIRD

SECRET WARNING comes here searching for a hat-trick of victories after he shared first position on the polytrack over a mile earlier this year. He is capable on this track and in fact, shed his maiden tag in his only c & d effort. The son of Kahal is best in at the weights on official ratings and he should give a great account of himself from a good draw.

TOP BET
Race 4: PERSIAN RUG(2)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

PERSIAN RUG has recaptured some of her better form since going over ground and she is effective on both local surfaces. She finished well for a good 2nd in a minor feature over ten furlongs against male rivals recently despite being unfavourably weighted and drops in class now. The daughter of Ideal World meets a few of her rivals on unfavourable terms for the defeat she inflicted on them on the polytrack three starts ago but she still has much more to offer and can pull this off.

Race 7: ROY’S HOLLYHOCK(1)

Jockey: Keagan DE MELO – Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

STOLA had a bright debut when she ran on smartly for 3rd over seven furlongs on the polytrack two weeks ago and she should make natural improvement. Admittedly, that was in an ordinary line-up but the daughter of Var is entitled to progress and she is bred to love today’s extra furlong. She jumps from a good draw and is her yard’s only entrant on the day.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 5: QUEEN’S BEACH(7)

Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Doug CAMPBELL

QUEEN’S BEACH has only moderate recent form but she is finally dropping in the merit ratings and could cause the upset today. Interestingly, her last victory came over this c & d five starts ago when jockey Sean Veale was in the saddle. Her yard is in good form at present.
