RACE 1 – Time: 07:00 Class 4 Handicap – 1200m (Turf)

Selections: 1/2/4

This is a weak Class 4 Handicap and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is ELIGERE from the Me Tsui yard. He raced from a handy position over this C&D last time but was caught in the latter stages. Zac Purton does duty and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. CHIU CHOW BROTHER was in need of his debut effort over 1000m on this course. He was bumped at the start and hampered at the 50m mark. He would have come on from the run and there should be plenty of improvement to come. GO GO SIXTEEN is much better than his last start suggests as he raced three-wide around the turn. His debut effort when finishing fourth catches the eye. Karis Teetan takes the ride and with a bit of luck in running, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

RACE 2 – Time: 07:30 Class 5 Handicap – 1200m (Turf)

Selections: 8/5/1

GOLDEN MISSION has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts on this course. He set the pace last time but was caught in the latter stages. He meets a similar type of field this afternoon and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line. ALLOY STAR won a good race in his last start over this C&D, despite excuses. He beat the top selection that day but is worse off at the weights. He jumps from a good draw and should be one of the leading contenders. UNIVERSAL CROWN finished second in the race referred to above. He didn’t have much luck that day as he raced three-wide around the turn. He is drawn in the deep end once again which won’t make life easy. However, the Douglas Whyte stable is in fine form at the moment and cannot be ignored.

RACE 3 – Time: 08:00 Class 4 Handicap – 1200m (Turf)

Selections: 1/7/2

FIRST RESPONDER is much better than his last start over this C&D. His penultimate run when finishing third over this distance at Happy Valley catches the eye. He takes a drop in class this afternoon and with a bit of luck from his wide draw, he may be the one to beat. SEASONS BLISS produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. Despite racing three-wide around the turn, he stayed on nicely. He would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression. PEGASUS GLORY ran a good race when finishing second over this distance on the all-weather surface last time. If repeating that effort on the turf, he should be competitive.

RACE 4 – Time: 08:30 Class 5 Handicap – 1400m (Turf)

Selections: 1/9/10

KUNG FU TEA showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. Despite racing wide around the turn, he kept on nicely at the business end. He has a much better barrier position today and with Zac Purton aboard, he may be the one to side with. SPICY GRILL’S last two starts have been decent. He was slow into stride last time, but finished his race off well. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. ALLOY KING was his own worst enemy last time as he overraced in the middle stages of the race. If Antoine Hamelin is able to switch him off early, he should earn a cheque.

RACE 5 – Time: 09:00 Class 4 Handicap – 1800m (Turf)

Selections: 3/11/13

EL JEFE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He was unlucky last time as he was bumped at the start and was crowded for running room between the 700m mark and 300m mark. It is encouraging that Joao Moreira keeps faith in the ride and in this type of field, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure. SWOT TROOPERS WIND won a good race in his last start under a super ride by Derek Leung. He is drawn in pole position this afternoon and can follow up. DAILY CHARM ran a good race when finishing second over this C&D last time. His only career victory to date came under today’s pilot and with a bit of luck in running, he should go close.

RACE 6 – Time: 09:35 Class 4 Handicap – 1400m (Turf)

Selections: 4/3/1

UNICORNBABY was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over this C&D. He set the pace and won with a ton in hand. Tony Piccone retains the ride and he has a good chance of notching up his third career victory. ZONE D finished three lengths behind the top choice last time. He jumps from a good draw of four and will be finishing his race off strongly. MY ECSTATIC won a good race in his last start over this C&D. Despite receiving a bump at the start, he drew clear in the latter stages. Zac Purton retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

RACE 7 – Time: 10:05 Class 3 Handicap – 1200m (Turf)

Selections: 11/7/9

KILLER BEE is the best bet on today’s card. He followed up his maiden win with a good second-place finish over this C&D. The son of Savabeel is lightly raced and looks to have plenty of scope. Joao Moreira retains the ride and he should take a power of beating. SUPER WIN DRAGON was in need of his debut effort over 1000m on this course. He was crowded for galloping room at the 600m mark and was one-paced thereafter. He would have come on from the run and should enjoy the extra furlong on offer. SPEEDY MOUSE’S last two starts have been fair. He should have finished closer last time as he was blocked for running room at the 200m mark. Zac Purton takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

RACE 8 – Time: 10:35 Class 3 Handicap – 1650m (All-weather)

Selections: 8/3/5

PARTY EVERYDAY finished 4.25 lengths behind SO WE JOY last time. He was his own worst enemy that day as he hung out from the 300m mark. He is better off at the weights this afternoon and if keeping on a straight line, he should turn the form around. SO WE JOY was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over this C&D. If repeating that effort today, he should can follow up. BRIGHT KID won a good race over this distance at Happy Valley last time. He takes a rise in class today, but is in a good space and may be up to the task at hand.

RACE 9 – Time: 11:10 Class 3 Handicap – 1400m (Turf)

Selections: 12/10/7

GALLANT EXPRESS followed up his debut win with a decent fourth-place finish over this C&D. Despite racing wide around the turn, he boxed on nicely in the run down to the line. He jumps from a good draw of four today and should return to winning ways. SUPER TEN won a good race when going from start to finish. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but should use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. PERFECT PAIR has shown good signs of a form return in his last two starts. Vincent Ho retains the ride and the combination will be staying on strongly in the run down to the line.

Race 10 – Time: 11:45 Class 2 Handicap – 1650m (All-weather)

Selections: 3/5/7

GLORIOUS ARTIST was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this C&D. He was reported to be distressed post-race, which makes the victory that much more encouraging. He is drawn well in barrier two and should follow up. PRECIOUSSHIP got going too late when finishing second behind the top choice last time. If not too far out of his ground today, he should pose a threat once again. HONGKONG GREAT has top recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice from three starts over this C&D. He won his penultimate start under Zac Purton and merits healthy respect.
