RACE 1
The South African-bred ANONYMA wasn’t disgraced last time out when beaten just 1.75 lengths at the wire. He shoulders top weight but doesn’t take on the strongest rivals and with Moreira in the saddle, he should prove tough to beat in this opening contest. SPICY GRILL was only beaten by three lengths last time out. He will need some luck from his wide barrier and if getting across without using up too much energy then he should be able to make his presence felt. MONEYMORE actually beat the top selection last time out. He is 4kgs worse off at the weights and faces a slightly stiffer task.
RACE 2
NOBLE DESIRE has placed in his last three outings. He was only beaten 1.75 lengths by Winner Method who takes his place later on today’s card. He gets Moreira in the saddle who may be able to coax a little extra out of him where it matters most. PLEASANT ENDEAVOR produced a promising debut when winning by just under a length. He is unexposed and with the natural improvement that is expected, could challenge the top selection. AMAZING ROCKY returns from a short-break. He wasn’t disgraced last time and can finish in the money if repeating his penultimate run.
RACE 3
BEAUTY SMILE is in search of a hat-trick of wins. He is suited to this c&d and despite shouldering top weight, should take a power of beating in this contest. WINNING METHOD finished 2.75 lengths behind the top selection. He is a whopping 7.5kgs better off at the weights and could turn the tables on his recent conqueror. THE CROWN wasn’t disgraced in his comeback run. He will strip a much fitter horse and can run into the money.
RACE 4
ZONE D finished a couple of lengths behind Ultra Express last time out. The form of his debut run catches the eye. He made good late progress from off the pace on that occasion and a repeat of that effort could see him earn his first career victory. FORTUNE MASTER followed up his recent win with a fair effort behind Master Hero. He returns from a short break and if fit and well, should pose a threat to the top selection. PARTY GENIUS found a form last time out. If he can overcome his wide draw without using up too much energy then he can run into the money.
RACE 5
FIRE BALL has found one better in his last two starts. He was beaten by Fantastic Way who runs later on this card and will be looking to make amends. FREE FOAL finished third on debut behind a subsequent winner. He is at big-odds but has plenty scope for improvement and could be upset potential in this contest. THE ANOMALY produced an encouraging debut win when beating Jazz Steed by the narrowest of margins. That was no easy task which suggests there is plenty more to come from the son of Real Impact.
RACE 6
WINNING STEED was narrowly beaten last time out under this young talented rider. He is well-drawn and if repeating that type of effort will definitely represent decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. ULTRA EXPRESS has produced two good efforts for Teetan. He was a narrow winner of his last start but is still a lightly raced sort that is on the upgrade. HAPPY WIN WIN finished a neck in front of the top selection last time out. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights and faces a slightly stiffer task today.
RACE 7
CHARITY FUN was ultra-impressive when winning his last start. He still looks ahead of the handicapper at this stage of his career and should prove tough to beat. ABOVE brings some attractive form into this contest. He won his penultimate run under Moreira and it will be no surprise to see him back in the winner’s enclosure. ARROGANT was beaten 4.5 lengths by the top selection last time out. He is 5kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result.
RACE 8
FANTASTIC WAY showed true potential in his debut effort when winning on this course. He beat Fire Ball who runs in Race 5 and it will be interesting to see how the form of that race plays out. With the expected natural improvement on offer, he is difficult to oppose in this contest. BIG FORTUNE has placed in his last four outings. He is racing off a competitive mark and is working towards his fifth career triumph. MIGHTY VALOR is back over a more suitable distance. He runs well for Purton and is capable of finding a swift return to form.
RACE 9
WINNER METHOD produced an eye-catching debut victory. He steps up into class 3 which can be a mountain to climb for some horses but he is well-weighted and could be anything. VALIANT DREAM has finished runner-up in his last two outings under current champion jockey Purton. He is well-drawn and merits obvious inclusion in this contest. GOODVIEW CLARICO is much better than his moderate last effort. He returns from a three-month layoff and if fit and well can bounce right back to his best.
RACE 10
SILVER EXPRESS is the best bet on the card. He was beaten by a progressive sort last time in the form of My Sugar. He is coming along the right way and with Moreira aboard, can get back to winning ways. NEW FUTURE was narrowly beaten in his last start. He faces stronger but shoulders a handy galloping weight and looks fairly handicapped. REGENCY BOBO managed to enter the frame last time out. All five of his career wins have come on this course and he must be respected in the lucky last.
