The tentative first selection is CIRCUIT SEVEN who showed vast improvement under Poon last time. He was clear second best on that occasion but a repeat of that effort should see him go close. SMART IDEA got bumped at the 700m last time and is better than that effort suggests. Teetan retains the ride and the combination must be included in all bets.

RUBY STARS brings decent All-weather form into this contest. He finished runner-up over this c&d last time despite an awkward start and he will be looking to go one better this afternoon. APOLAR WARRIOR produced a fair last effort despite being held up for a run between the 400-300m. Bentley seems to get the best out of this individual and the pair merit healthy respect.
08.30 Race 4 Class 4 Handicap 1200m

MY ECSTATIC is the top rating and he is a massive runner despite having to shoulder top weight. His last win came under Purton and a repeat of his penultimate effort should see him go close. LUCKY MARYKNOLL was rewarded for consistency last time when he finished well to score under Maia. He takes on slightly stronger and should be up to the task at hand.
09.00 Race 5 Class 4 Handicap 1600m
Selections: 5/6/8
FREE FOAL was only outrun late in his last start and looks fairly handicapped in this event. His last win came under Chadwick and if overcoming his wide draw, should be right there at the business end. ROBOT WARRIOR got going too late in his last start over this C&D. Teetan retains the ride and the pair will be looking to move up with intent a bit earlier this time.
09.35 Race 6 Class 4 Handicap 1400m

SOLAR POWER set a decent gallop last time, fought hard and was only collared late. He gets French ace Hamelin in the saddle and if overcoming his wide draw, could be one to cause an upset. SUNNY BABY produced a decent comeback effort under Yeung despite racing wide and a repeat of that effort should see him finish in the money.
10.05 Race 7 Class 3 Handicap 1600m

LEAP OF FAITH brings ultra-consistent form into this race and is the best bet on the card. He found no challengers in his last start when romping home over nine furlongs and he definitely has the ability to make it quick back-to-back wins. ABOVE is better than his below par last outing over ten furlongs. He is drawn pole, is likely to settle off the pace and should be doing his best work in the straight.
10.35 Race 8 Class 3 Handicap 1200m

JADE PHOENIX got going too late in his last start when narrowly beaten at the wire. He was reported to have cast a shoe on that occasion which makes the effort more encouraging and he represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. DROPS OF GOD was an impressive winner in his last start. The manner in which he drew away from his opposition suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual.
11.10 Race 9 Class 3 Handicap 1400m

STAR PERFORMANCE was given a peach of a ride to win his comeback effort over this C&D. He should strip fitter, Teetan retains the ride and the pair can make it quick back-to-back wins. HORSESAIN BOLT has placed in his last three outings and looks nicely handicapped. He shifted at the 400m last time, finished his race off positively and can challenge the top selection.
11.45 Race 10 Class 2 Handicap 1600m

SUPER FOOTBALL hit the front at the 150m last time and kept finding all the way to the line. He recorded back to-back wins under Purton during the course of last season and the pair merit healthy respect. FLYING QUEST was an unlucky loser in his last start. He got bumped at the 200m on that occasion and got going too late when just beaten in the shadow of the post. He will be looking to make amends in the lucky last.
