Race 1 – Time: 06:30 Griffin Race – 1000m

SMART IDEA produced an eye-catching debut effort over this C&D. The manner in which he finished his race off that day suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual. TURBO POWER was an impressive debut winner under Ho. He will have to shoulder top weight but can make it quick back-to-back wins. HK DRAGON showed potential on debut under this apprentice and can run into the money once again.
Race 2 – Time: 07:00 Class 4 Handicap – 1000m

DRAGON BABY ran a cracker on debut despite taking a bump at the 180m mark and becoming unbalanced. He is an unexposed sort and should come on nicely with that run under the belt. MAJESTIC CONQUEROR comes in at the bottom of the weights. He was narrowly beaten last time and should be up to the task at hand. ISLAND SUNSHINE made vast progress to stay on well last time. He is drawn wide but is still lightly raced and can run into the money.
Race 3 – Time: 07:30 Class 5 Handicap – 2000m

AMAZING AGILITY stayed on strongly last time over nine furlongs at Happy Valley. He finished runner-up over this C&D in January and merits healthy respect. CIRCUIT NUMBER ONE is better than his poor last run on the All Weather track and on his penultimate run, must have a say. SKY GEM is drawn wide but Moreira has kept faith in the ride which is positive and can confirm his recent improvement.
Race 4 – Time: 08:00 Class 4 Handicap – 1200m

RHAPSODY looked a winner in his last start and was only outrun in the latter stages. JADE PHOENIX has found one better in both efforts this year. He was no match for the winner last time but on paper but must be included in all bets. SMART WONGCHOY is another who was clear second best last time. He has finished second in both starts when partnered with Badel and can pose a threat to the top selection.
Race 5 – Time: 08:30 Class 4 Handicap – 1600m

ULTRA EXPRESS had a lot of ground to make up last time when finished well from eight lengths off the pace. He is drawn pole, is racing off a competitive handicap and should take a power of beating. DANDY YEARS was cramped for room from the 400-200m mark last time. He is well-drawn and with a better passage in running, can bounce back to his best form. LEADING FORTUNE is drawn wide but is likely to settle off near the rear of the field and will be doing his best work at the business end.
Race 6 – Time: 09:00 Class 4 Handicap – 1400m

GREEN ENVY looked a winner in his last start and was outrun in the closing stages. He cut throats a bit in front on that occasion and with better luck in running, can find the winners box. GRACYLOVE has finished runner-up in his last two starts and on form is difficult to oppose. MASTER HERO will benefit from an apprentice claim and should give another good account of himself.

CHARITY FUN takes on stronger but has shown enough ability to win a contest of this nature. He has won his last two starts in similar fashion and now the hat-trick is on the cards. RUSSIAN EMPEROR was reportedly lame after his last outing but on form can pose a threat to the top selection. PANFIELD followed up his recent win well when running on from far back to finish third. He is well-drawn and reunites with Moreira, which is encouraging.
Race 8 – Time: 10:05 Class 3 Handicap – 1200m

HURRY HURRY GAIN is a sort that Hong Kong racing pundits will be keeping an eye on. He followed up his promising debut with back-to-back wins and he looks quite progressive. SKY SHOW was narrowly beaten last time on the All Weather track and if overcoming his wide draw can challenge the top selection. STORM WARNINGS finished second in his penultimate run under this apprentice and a repeat of that should see him finish in the money.
Race 9 – Time: 10:35 Class 3 Handicap – 1800m

LOOKING GREAT was rewarded for consistency last time when he moved up in emphatic fashion to win over this C&D. It is encouraging that Moreira has kept faith in the ride and the pair can make it quick back-to-back wins. CALIFORNIA TEN found one better last time over this C&D and will be looking to make amends in this contest. ARROGANT has placed in his last two performances and if overcoming his wide draw, can finish in the money once again.
Race 10 – Time: 11:10 Class 3 Handicap – 1200m

PLEASANT ENDEAVOUR showed guts and determination to win his last start. Both career wins have come under this young and talented rider. He should be at home over the extra furlong on offer and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. BIG FORTUNE hasn’t won since September but he has run some smart races under this apprentice and should pose a massive threat to the top selection.
Race 11 – Time: 11:45 Class 3 Handicap – 1400m

FANTASTIC TREASURE is the best bet on the card. He comes in at the top of the weights but is unbeaten in all three starts under Schofield. He is well-drawn, is still on the upgrade and should take a power of beating. His biggest danger UNCLE STEVE has been racing well and looks fairly handicapped in the lucky last. He has finished runner-up in his last two starts and on paper, his next career win looks overdue.
