RACE 1

SUMMIT CHEERS produced a promising debut effort on this track. He only won by a nose on that occasion but with the expected natural improvement on offer, should keep his unbeaten record intact. The South-African bred SUPER COMMANDER found a welcome return to form last time out and if overcoming his wide draw, should be right there at the business end. SO AWESOME is much better than his below par last run. His penultimate run catches the eye when second on the All Weather track and a repeat of that effort should see him run into the money.

RACE 2

ENCHANTING START was only beaten by half a length in his comeback run. He will strip a much fitter horse and from pole position, will take a power of beating in this contest. DIVINE ERROR produced a fair debut effort. He found support on that occasion which suggests he is showing good work at home. VOYAGE STAR has placed in his last two outings. He is well drawn, shoulders a handy galloping weight and can run into the money once again.

RACE 3

PAKISTAN FRIEND impressively went from gun to tape in his last start. He sets a decent tempo up front and if allowed a comfortable lead, could pull off the hat-trick of wins. ABOVE brings some consistent form into this contest. He followed up his last win with two decent efforts and is expected to go close once again. He is 2.5kgs better off with VINCY on his last run and if putting his best foot forward, can turn the tables on his recent conqueror.

RACE 4

CHARITY GRACE followed up his first career win with two runner-up berths. He is coming off a trial since his last win and should be in peak condition coming into this race. SPARKY STAR finished well in his comeback run when only beaten under a length by Dandy Years. He will benefit from a 1kg apprentice and is a leading contender. MASTER HERO beat the top selection in his penultimate run and if bouncing back to his best, can make his presence felt.

RACE 5

EL JEFE finished well under this talented rider last time out. The grey son of Bernadini contests in a very open race and on his last effort, represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. ULTRA EXPRESS finished 1.2 lengths behind All For St Paul’s last time out. He gets Moreira in the saddle and he may be able to coax a little extra out of him where it matters most. BREEZE OF SPRING was only one length off the winner last time out. He is well-drawn, shoulders just 0.5kg more and should be in with a real shout.

RACE 6

BELUGA was only beaten by a length last time out and current Hong Kong champion jockey – Purton has kept faith in the ride. He is having his tenth start and looks set to earn his third career victory. TRUE LEGEND showed signs of needing his last start. Both of his career triumphs have come under Teetan and it is encouraging to see the pair reconnect. PURE LEGEND found a form return in his comeback run, is drawn best of all and shoulders a very light weight. From pole position, he can confirm his recent improvement.

RACE 7

COURIER WONDER is the best bet on the card. He made an impressive debut when winning by more than five lengths. He is an unexposed sort but the manner in which he won that day suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual. DUBLIN STAR is coming along the right way. He has placed in his last two outings and looks fairly handicapped in this Class. KEEP YOU WARM has placed in his last two outings and if overcoming his wide draw, can run into the money.

RACE 8

HEALTHY HAPPY won the Hong Kong Classic Cup when he set a slow tempo and just held on to defeat Russian Emperor in the shadow of the post. He is yet to test his stamina over ten furlongs which is the only concern but on form he is a leading contender in this feature event. EXCELLENT PROPROSAL will be hoping for a hotter pace this time around and if bouncing back to his Hong Kong Classic Mile form, then he can find himself in the winner’s enclosure. SHADOW HERO is a dual Australian Grade 1 winner. He has the class to win a race of this nature but has looked a bit outpaced in recent efforts.

RACE 9

FANTASTIC WAY is in search of a hat-trick of wins. He won his last start well and remains in Class 3. With the expected natural improvement on offer, he should be able to keep the unbeaten record intact. NAMJONG SINGS is another who is in search of a hat-trick. He performs very well for French ace Badel. He returns from a three-month layoff and if fit, can pose a threat to the top selection. The South African bred SUPER DOBBIN finished 2.75 lengths behind the second selection last time out. He is 4kgs better off at the weights and is capable of turning the tables.

RACE 10

FLAGSHIP GLORY was an entry in the Hong Kong Derby. He will be more at home in this Class and if overcoming his wide barrier, should be very competitive in the lucky last. SAVAQUIN almost pulled off the hat-trick of wins last time out. He shoulders a light weight and won his only start under Moreira. MASTER MONTARO is a two-time winner from four starts in Hong Kong. The way he races suggests that this distance will suit him down to the wire and can run into the money.
